L: “Kira says what?” Light thinking: _He didn’t just try to use that trick on me, did he? That’s absurd! I would never fall into a trap like that. But then again … maybe he’s anticipating that I would dodge his simple trap. Maybe he’s actually screening for a cautious response! Like I would slip up so easily. All I need to think about is “What would Light do”, the honours student? I could play innocent and just ask ‘what?’, he can’t deduce I’m Kira from word play, and this gives me the opportunity to openly question his interrogation technique … but would that be too obvious? No, that’s ridiculous … all I need to do is stay relaxed and act innocent. So long as they don’t find the death note, they can’t possibly-_ L thinking: _this guy has been silently staring at me for like 2 minutes now. If this guy isn’t Kira, I’m retiring_
L when I introduce him to the concept of murder (the idea that killing the mass murderer sooner rather than later and proving it later never crosser his mind somehow)
Bro around 2015 when i watched this series I was playing some game on my phone that had different melodies to choose when you played. I liked that theme so much, i wrote email to some guy dev to add it, and he did 😂😂😂 i had so much fun with it, respect dev 👊
@@PogiAmiga_Sesshomaruthe proportion of straight people Kira kills vs the gay people he kills seems to indicate that Kira is gay and hates straight people
only guilty people say "what" really evil people say "Sorry couldn't hear the words you just said. Would you repeat that"? Even worse people say nothing and just walk away. unsaid proof it.
L: “Kira says what?” Light: “If I say ‘what’, he’ll know that I’m Kira… but if I don’t say ‘what’, he could also think that I’m Kira, since if I were Kira, I would make sure to not say ‘what’… then again if I say ‘what’ to avoid suspicion, that might end up making me look more suspicious… on the other hand…”
@@williamrelue I never had the bravery to take a potato chip AND eat it until I watched Death Note! I could take it. I could eat it. But I could never muster the courage to do both. Thank you, Death Note!
Light starts inner monologuing to either: Play along with L’s joke reinforcing how funny L is. Or Figure out how to kill everyone in the audience simultaneously while putting himself and four other people in that audience in a coma, but making sure those four people are randomly chosen and outside of earshot of this conversation. Then make L the only survivor of the incident unharmed and placing the notebook in his possession with a time delay to have triggered for this very moment proving L was Kira all along and only joined the investigation to derail the investigation and displace blame.
To this day I’m still upset with L’s death because it really marked the end of the series since Near was a shit replacement and the author should feel ashamed for introducing them to the series.
One thing I always liked about it is the mutual respect and admiration L and Light had for each other, and how both seemed to enjoy trying to outplay the other
L knew probably really close to the beginning since Light was super sloppy, exposed the area he lived in and fit the profile of someone who had access to the police files. How he was doing it and how to get proof are another thing...how do you convince the world that someone has a god of death on retainer?
Its been a long time, I seriously forgot how epic the L piano theme is Whenever it played you knew L had Light's number until Light had to do some more masterful strategy
Tbh L outplayed kira waaay before! it was outplaying of the day!! Just in the first or second episode. Where he found out in which country kira lives in and in which city from the whole world, But also he knew from that..that kira is using somekind of super powers but he just couldn't get what was it, other than just that it relys on naming. CAN YOU BELIEVE HE KNEW ALL THAT??! It was because of the stupidity of kira 🥸, Not hating but that's the reality.
From the beginning, L knew light was kira to an extent. For 1 he's the only student close enough to retrieve police data, 2 his interest in kira was obviously uncanny and 3 if he were this close to police activity with said interest he would of been involved a long time ago not then when L decides to meet in person but that was a reach since he is a teenager in school it's not like he has time to be a part of an entire investigation. After all this info L was really trying to expose Light as kira from then on, even light caught on to it a bit realizing his acting wasn't working on L and he had to sacrifice something to fool him.
imagine instead if while this was going on, Watari replaced the wire taps and cameras in Lights room. Light goes back to his room distracted, shuts his door, has his massive freak out. "If i kill him and the pop star dies....thats like announcing to the world that I am Kira..... he got me. Hehe mawahahahahaa!!!!" Chief Yagami, L, Mustuda, Mogi all watching the screen "Holey shit that worked!?"
L: Hey Kira Light: What? Light thinking: Damn it! I answered "what" to him referring to me as Kira, I've practically given myself away.. Actually no.. Wait.. He can't convict me over something so trivial. He was looking at me when he asked the question, and there was no one else around for him to talk to, so it would only be logical to assume that I just got confused in the moment. He can't pin anything on me! L: Nothing Kira, I just wanted to talk. Light Thinking: He referred to me as Kira again? What is he trying to accomplish? Should I just ask him why is he referring to me as Kira? Or would that just make me look like I'm desperately trying to disassociate myself from Kira thus increasing suspicion? Should I just continue answering normally and pretend I'm "going with the joke"? Light: What do you want to talk about? L: About how clever you are Kira. Light thinking: What was that for again? Is he trying to appeal to my ego? I don't think I can realistically keep this up, I'll just confront him about calling me Kira, I think pretty much anyone would be a bit creeped out after the third time. Light: Why thank you for calling me clever, but why do you keep calling me Kira? L theme starts L thinking: So Light asked why I'm calling him Kira but him still took the complement. Just as I would except an egomaniac like Kira to act. The probability that Light is Kira has increased by 13%. L: Jeez, can't you take a joke Light?
Only the real Kira would have paid enough attention to notice this trap and say something fitting in return. This proved, without any doubt, that you are Kira, Light!
Even if this is a great joke, this scene made me realize that if light just said "I'm scared to be killed by Kira if you tell me that", he'd have eliminated most suspicion
Being nonchalant about unreleased information that only a select few people on the case would know is just outright a trap. Because only the guilty would want to know more than anyone else about what said information is.
Knowledge is power. If someone randomly asked you the same thing you would probably want to know the information. Actually not wanting the information is kinda weird, and that could give L the idea that Light was just trying to play the innocent boy who wants to stay out of that conflict, since he knew how inteligent Light was. Everyone would love to hear some confidential information about Kira, including the best student of the country. It's not a trap, it's comon behaviour.
If you watch Death Note without inner monologues, it must be way more ominous and terrifying to think that this teenager may or may not be the most lethal murderer
