SrAozoli-He kills people,he is in fact a murderer. I won’t say I disagree on how bad the real world is,but he’s used innocent people, especially his father,to his advantage and considers it justice. He’s arrogant and power hungry. His death was inevitable and shows Light’s truest nature.
Bad writing by the makers of the anime, one thing I believe we should also know is that to be fair for Near the dub gave him the annoying teenager voice. I'm sure the sub and japanese version didn't gave Near an annoying attitude.
Light is not a villan! This world is truly rotten. I dunno why people disagree with what Light stands for and what he does. The only way to cleanse this world of violence is to eliminate the evil doers. If wanting to make a better world is wrong, then call me wrong. Edit: To anyone who's going to inevitably explain to me why I'm wrong, please not that I don't agree with this statement. This was all an attempt at comedy, that clearly went over people's heads.
@@johnmarston2595 Ikr but you really need to watch one piece to understand what i am saying and trust me i have literally watched 60 percent anime out there but no one comes close to one piece and do not judge before seeing any anime.
This is my favorite moment of the show we finally see him break and desperately attempt to argue his side to win them over but he just gets dismissed so he tried to pull his last card out which fails and we see him writhing in a pool of his own blood more desperate then ever and then running away
This was a very disturbing, but well written anime. The character progression of Light from an educated, bright scholar to the point where the notebook has shredded his world to the point of complete insanity, was extremely hard to swallow as an audience. Having the narrative told from Light's perspective, you sympathize with him and in a way, become him and his thoughts throughout the events. Feeling him self-destruct and isolate himself was seriously painful for me, as was his death. It's hard for me to glorify his final end because as he was running, injured, against the sunset, I saw the innocence in his eyes again. Man, this fucked me up.
Same to me...the only thing that helped me a little is the fact that Light probably became a god of death as well according to the movie. So he must be happy. But it really was disturbing.
@@andrasszollosy4418 dont wanna disappoint you but its stated that a death note user goes to mü once he dies. In fact every human in the death note universe goes to mü after he dies. Mü is translated into nothingness and is just a metaphor for the human being just ceasing to exist. Theres no afterlife in death note.
"I am standing behind you, Kira" "Well played L, but you are too slow. Now I am the one standing behind YOU" "... did you just reply to the name 'Kira'?"
@@tenoriovinz1995 I mean it's possible if you only focus on one thing. I've done an entire math hw packet (trigonometry) the night before it was due and that had like 12 assignments. So copying something in one night isn't out the question, but having to mimic the persons hand writing does make it harder. To which, the puppet Kira did noticed a mistake in the copied version.
What is very interesting is the fact that Light actually succeeded and the world still fears him and people don't commit as many crimes as they did before
@Waniya Syed that's only if the targets are ACTUALLY guilty of the crimes in question. Nobody with a conscience wants to kill someone who turns out to be innocent. Besides, Light CROSSED THE LINE when he killed Raye Penber and later Naomi Misora. That was when you knew he was worse than your garden-variety felons.
@@daan4206 more but not quite right. when it's 1 and 1, sure, number stays the same. Kira killed about 100/day at the very least. Numbers sure as hell aren't staying the same xD
The final name written in the death note, his death was truly sad. You see the story from Light’s point of view and you start to sympathise with him, but when he starts running whilst bleeding, you see the innocence in his eyes, right at the end of his life, truly sad..
It's tragic to see someone like Light end up like this. Light was gifted. He had looks, remarkable intelligence, and a good family. Some people would sell their souls just to have what he had. It's sad that Light had such a perfect future ahead of him, yet he chose to throw it away and go down the path of insanity.
i think that it depends what means perfect future for you, light was always bored, at school, around others, being socially accepted and having good job didnt seem to be perfect for him
I've heard somewhere that if he didn't get the death note in the first place, he probably would've been a great police man and maybe would've worked with L. It's so upsetting because he had the potential of a really good future.
Hai Yeah, in fact, Light’s innocence was very amazing and very prevalent when he didn’t have the death note memories. It was clear that he was a good person without the note, even though he agreed with Kira’s ideals. He definitely could have worked with L. The thing is, I was a Team L person. Light was just too much of a crazy asshole for me to like him. However, innocent Light had me loving him more than ever before
Yes but how many millions would still be going to be getting murdered and killed ? Innocent people that wouldnt deserve to get stabbed or raped by bad people. SO you prefer this than what really happened in death note?
Here we stand, watching as Light is slowly no longer "Light". He is Kira, through and through, as he is no longer Light Yagami without his father. We watch a young man slowly descend into insanity as he abuses his God-given power-- SCREW IT. WE ALL KNOW THAT WE WANT THAT DEATH NOTE BOOK!
In the manga it's completetly different.. It's kira falling, begging to the shinigami to write the other's names. The shinigami says "Ok".Then kira says "TAKE THAT " whoever he was talking to.. Then says "IT'S YOUR MOMENT TO DIE!" Then the shinigami says "It's you..It's you the one who's going to die.". So this is completely different..
I like the manga ending to be honest. The anime ending is too overdramatic that Mikami died by a fucking pen (How was that possible?) And then Light ran away like a coward and hallucinating himself if he didn't get a Death Note in the first place. In the manga, he was crawling and begging Ryuk to not to die and then he got a heart attack and said: "Damn!"
I prefer the anime ending more. While it does have some hokey moments (I prefer that Miami stabbed himself with an actual knife he hidden instead if a pen), I felt that the story came full circle with Light going out somewhat sympathetically. In the beginning and middle, he was a decent person and wasn't corrupted. He did have an ego but many youths have that. Upon getting absolute power, he became corrupted. In the end of the anime, he becomes mentally fragmented and is scared and sad, a reminder that he is a human after all. In what I consider the climax of the story, him seeing his peaceful younger self who didn't become kira ultimately drove home the point that he was once a good man who fell to the dark side and that he could have lived a better life had he discarded the death note from the very beginning.
Now, that is what I call an unsatisfactory but a PERFECT ending. This animé was really worth my time. What a masterpiece. So much better than the manga. The animé ending was perfect
The only thing that could have made this scene better (imo) would have been if ryuu and light had one final talk together. Talking about the previous 6 years and finally, how it had been so worth it...
Everyone in this series lost except for one Lights entire life was ruined Lights family was ruined and his father lost his life L lost his life and his only friend, even though his successors caught Light, he lost his life and opportunity to live and catch him Misa was used and lost the man she loved Rem lost Misa to Light and her life Near and Mello lost their mentor, Mello lost his life Multiple police and detectives lost their lives to Kira/Second Kira Takeda was used and lost her life Mikami was used and lost his life Matsuda, Aizawa and the task force lost years of their lives to be near Kira the whole time, they lost their captain and their jobs, some even their lives Wedy and Aiber lost their lives Wateri lost his life Naomi lost her fiancé and her life Raye Penber lost his life Light lost his sanity, his opportunities, and his life Kira died, leaving the world without their “god” Many people died, for nothing, only for an unfulfilled wish that could never truly come true no matter what And Ryuk won by relieving his boredom and getting tasty apples
What we do in real life nothing fulfilled after all we all die and death God enjoyed it's the real life bro we all try we all chasing for something in life but still in inner us something empty inside us and then we get old and die 😢 so sad I am really sad about L due is was so cute in end I really wish if he has survive god 😢
Imagine if they had kept the manga ending with Light crawling on the floor bleeding out as he begs for Ryuk's help, losing all composure, and then desperately begging for his own life for the short 40 seconds he has left after seeing ryuk write his name. Now that would have been something
Death note would have dropped to atleast 7/10 ratings because that would ruin light's charecter.. death note ratings have already went down for just this anime ending
@@tronalddump6768 how does it ruin light's character? its an intense culmination of his character arc. Watching a character that stayed a step ahead of everyone else throughout the whole series totally lose themselves and be utterly defeated, brought down to reality from their delusions of grandure in such a raw and undignified way, that really means something.
@@tronalddump6768 1. Its cus fangirls think Light is a badass "bad boy" even though any reasonable adult can tell you he is a megalomaniac psycho. His manga death fits him perfectly. Its justice/karma coming to bite him and exposing the way he truly is. 2. Your name checks out. inb4 "muh comment is old y u respond??" bro I don't care. Simple.
What? He didn’t return to his innocent self the acts he commuted were all his choice he wouldn’t of done it without the death note but his ideals align with Kira normally. The only reason he wouldn’t do these things without the death note is he wouldn’t have the power to do so
He's actually afraid of death, he breaks down when he realized he will die and can't do anything about it. Some scenes are missing like when light is freaking out over dying and begs for ryuk to spare him.
Ik this is a late comment but I read somewhere else that the police told his family that he was murdered by Kira, not that he was Kira. Idk if that's true
@@frayzard Light became power hungry way sooner than a normal person and he is way too sadistic in the end, that means he was always like that but just never realised it
Jabari The savage13 fr I don’t get why people saying he didn’t deserve it. In the beginning his intentions were good, but soon it twisted into him becoming a psychopath where he didn’t only kill hardcore criminals just innocent people who got in his way. He became unredeemable when he killed Ray Penbers fiancé, the way he unnecessarily taunted her when he killed her was eerie and it showed he has no problem murdering innocent people as long as it helps him get what he wants. He basically killed his own father and didn’t care, he thought about killing his sister. He treated misa like shit and used her for his own gain. ect.
@@bonney7757 Kira was a good character, without him the Anime is boring. That's why they like Kira. And of course, i like him too. Bc i would probably be like him if i could use the Death Note.
Kiras first mistake was not having mikami have an extra page in his pants or something. Might sound weird, but its the best way. The second mistake was announcing he won. The third was making it obvious he still had a piece of death note paper. He couldve silently and sneakily written the name down.
@@SpingyClink as the show went on especially after L died he became much more cocky and arrogant. The main thing that caused his death was trusting others to help him though it was necessary as if he didn’t have someone to replace him after death it would all be pointless what he did.
Same light ending was too heavy for me 😢 even though I didn't like his character but man, the way he lost his mind and broke completely was just tooo heavy for me😢
For all who don't know, after light's death, he became a shinigami as it was a rule that the owner of the book will neither go to the heaven nor to the hell and there was a scene regarding this that was deleted afterwards (you can find that on youtube itself)... So does that mean that ryuk, rem and other shinigamis did same as light?? Means they were also humans once and recieved death note and then died??

@@PhantomBlaze2000 no it was really showing how all human have dark desires given the right power that could bring it all out showing how we are all neither good or bad but have things that suppress that desire religion, laws, rules or maybe just your upbringing.
@@kum6839 I respectfully disagree. You're right in saying that we all have dark thoughts and desires but we can choose not to act on those dark thoughts and desires.
I feel rlly bad for him. He had such a bright future being smart and kind. But then it got ruined cause of the death note. He got so wrapped up in killing people that he ruined his life. It’s just like L and his dad said, people who get the power to kill people are unlucky.
I actually wanted Near and L to win and I was so shocked at how far he thought ahead! Way to go Gevanni (not everyone can make an exact duplicate of Xkira's death note in a single night.)
I still remember the first time I saw this. It felt so disturbing because he was always able to stay calm and talk his way out of a situation, but here he had nowhere to turn and really went mad. It was just crazy to see Light like this
I love Kira, I know I may sound crazy because everyone is saying he is a murderer but I could care less, to me he is Light and he was the light in this series, it was so dead without him!
Well ofc the anime was going to be dead without him because he is the -protagonist- main character, I’m glad he died, he was nothing but a serial killer, maybe if he never got the death note I would have liked him better, he had a bright future and threw it all away because he thought he can change the world, ig he was just a foolish human who thought he can change the world
There were some times when he was Light, but I think mostly he was Kira. But at the end, when he was on the staircase, I’m pretty sure he was Light. A human. Like everyone else.
This hurts me so damn much, man. Light was a bright scholar who had an amazing future ahead of him, but the power corrupted him from inside out to the point he started seeing other people as humans and himself as a god.
People hate this ending but in the begining ryuk already told light that he will write his name on death note ending is shown from the beggining of the series.
The “no you’re just a crazy murderer” line is so good because Light should have heard this a long long time ago. He was never really doing the “right” thing even if he was reducing violence in the world because ultimately he was doing something far worse than them by mass murdering millions. He was just sinking deeper and deeper into a delusion that he is “justice” and by the end of it, people were getting killed if someone asked for it online, or anyone voicing that they don’t like what he’s doing were getting killed, or anyone standing in his way whatsoever were being murdered. They even said at some point on the news that “anyone” could be his victim now and everyone should be worried. He was, from very early on, already becoming a delusional and power hungry psycho killer
i feel so empty like as a viewer we see his insights and sympathise and understand why he needed to do what he did but idk bruh the pure sadness and innocence in his eyes make me feel so holo and he’s really dead
I still don't understand how Light could be so brilliant and yet don't understand that evil is a single force, and killing the ones who commit it won't eradicate it, because it emerges from the system itself, and the system in which we now live comes from human nature and over 100,000 years of historical events. Simply killing those that do bad is like putting a band-aid to a skin cancer. In that sense, I get what Near says. He's not a God, he's just a murderer.
And people still like Light even tho the power of the death note has corrupted him and his desires not to mention his manipulations to get what he wants while others gets hurts
"useless fools, as if they could ever understand". This character was just perfectly written. Like damn death note is an amazing story we've witnessed in this world.
In the end his death was really fitting. He had become filled with mostly evil intentions, had become unhappy, and it was all because of the death note. He died pathetically at the hands of a death note, just like how he had been acting only minutes before his death. His death was kind of sad, but at the same time it was kind of poetic to see such a great character lose his life in such a deserving way.
