Yep. Self-inflicted wound. Seems really unlikely. If you stab at something that won't yield, the chances of losing your grip on the knife and dropping it is far greater than completing an arc of the swing and stabbing yourself.
@@AlanSmitheeman Also, it's going to gouge the hell out of the paint, whether it dings the Masonite or not. (And it's just fibreboard, not "hard as steel". The knife point is definitely going to dig into it.) The premise of this show isn't great, but it's still a great example of 70s mystery television. I remember seeing it on-air when I was a kid.

All that synthetic moog synthesizer music was all the rage in the early 70s because it was new. But obviously they had bad sound engineering for that TV show.
