LEARN DIAGNOSTICS ON THIS 13 year Old set of injectors long over due for replacement completely worn out in this 2007 Toyota Prado diesel 1KDFTV. Fourby4diesel When to replace injectors
Love your videos. I've got a 120 prado (land cruiser as their called here in scotland) Not allot of information from this side of the planet. So glad iv found your channel
Hey Anthony, another good vid thanks (and so short!). Just so you know, it's not always that people are too busy to pick up more info, it's just that we generally pick the video that relates to the issues we're having at the time. Mine relate to the '07 Hilux 1KD-FTV so once I've looked at what I need to do I need to go and do it, not watch similar problems/fixes on a 150 Prado or whatever (as much as I'd like to). Keep up the great work!
Hi Anthony, I enjoy watching your videos even though I am now a Ford Ranger owner. Don't hold that against me, it was a bargain I just couldn't pass up. I was hoping that you might be able to enlighten me as to where I might be able to obtain the optimum diagnostic specs for a 2017 3.2 duratorq engine, so that I can compare them against the readings I am getting on my scan tool. I have tried to obtain them from Ford with no luck. The information I have been able to obtain online and youtube has varied that much that I am no wiser, eg, maf readings should be between 7-9 g/s at 800 rpm and 25 g/s at 2500 rpm. A local mechanic has suggested that it should be between 10-12 g/s at idle and 35 g/s at 2000 rpm. I would have thought that all specs would be stated in the workshop manual, but the 2 versions I have don't. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give on the subject. anthony im from england brill videos, and you learn me loads your diagnostics are worked out properly.what scan tool works for my toyota avensis t25 d4d , as i have the same injector knock for about half hour. thanks john.
Hi, great videos, great information, I think you mentioned in this one about service partners, I’m on the Gold Coast, is there anyone up here you would recommend to change my injectors? One owner 2008 120 1kd 220,000k, Load is 18, fuel consumption creeping up over the last six months, had a gut full of Toyota. Happy to buy the kit from you, my mechanical experience ended when I sold my ‘79 202 HZ kingswood 20 years ago so would need someone to fit it.
So if the injectors are flogged do you also do the injection pump at the same time? Do they go hand in hand or sometimes you just do the injectors by themselves?
Hello, can you tell me if I replace all bad diesel injectors with new, in my engine (Ford Focus 1.6 tdci), will it already improve obvious weak power I feel every day, or does't- perhaps if turbine pump is also demaged (during driving with bad injectors maybe). Does setting new injectors with old pump is good solution with no worries in future? Thanks
Don't replace just a few injectors either based on these readings. I did that on my diesel (different model) and it turned out the ones with poor readings e.g. adding way to much fuel were the good ones compensating for the bad one. E.g. i replaced just 5 and 6 cause they were adding heaps but still had a cold misfire. Removal of the rest it was clear injector 1 was very blocked which funnily enough showed fine on scan tool readings. Cold misfire fixed. If one is playing up the rest are soon to follow get em all done and dusted.
Would u mind helping me narrow down my ticking noise? If have a feeling it has to do with my injectors or spark plugs as that’s the only thing I haven’t replaced since I got the car. video in my channel plz help
Just had to replace all my injectors on my 2008 Ford focus 1.4 tdci at 100,000 miles at a cost of £1300 pounds and couldn't understand why they needed replacing. As you stated maybe it was just because of the age of the car, I don't know 🤷
I have this same exact noise especially with revving, either no one can help me or they say it's an engine knock. I have a 2005 tC with only 130k, it should be a baby atleast for a Toyota 130k is nothing on a Toyota. Guess I'll replace my injectors
What exactly is happening to these injectors that makes the injection volume, injection period & engine load go up so much when they are flogged? Is it because the spray pattern is no good so it needs more fuel to keep the thing running? Or is it a completely different reason all together? Thanks.
My VW Polo TDI is knocking out. There's a low rail fuel pressure issue I'm trying to figure out. I've changed the pressure valve with no luck and now going on to a pressure sensor and hopefully this clears the fault.
Any cleaner you put into your tank will just clean it in the tank and lines and block your injectors with the stuff it's cleaned. That's my 5c worth hahaha
Best way to clean injectors is to remove the fuel pump fuse and disconnect fuel line, find a hose that fits the fuel line and glue the tube from a can of carb cleaner to one side. Then use a hose clamp to clamp down the dried glue and another one to attach the hose to the fuel line. Finally, insert the tube into the can of carb cleaner, push the nozzle and start the engine, keeping the nozzle depressed till the can is empty.
How come you shouldnt worry about a scan tool unless your a workshop? Like thats a pretty handy tool to have, does it affect working mechanics badly? Like annoying to fix problems peopke may create with a super cheap one?
I went to have injection replacement but found out my computer isn't working. I can tell there done makes a lot of noise. A mechanic told me to put some Mineral two Stoke in the fuel it quiter but still needs doing. It has a mis when driving. I've done 470,000 KLM Kdh201R
I’m in the states, why do injectors wear out so fast?! I run lubricant in my Ford 7.3 power stroke and I have original injectors at 126,000 miles. I have two new 4Runners at home with the gas 4.0 motor, and the 5 speed, fantastic trucks!
Hi Anthony mate! I’m due for injectors in my 1kd hilux. I was just wondering if you know of any good workshops around the Newcastle area that do a good job? Cheers mate!
I have a similar knocking sound when it’s cold, but only when driving and the knocking goes away as soon as the engine heats up. The injectors were replaced in 2018 (around 240K) and when I bought it two months ago (driven around 303K) the Toyota dealer inspected the injectors and said they were good (the engine was warm btw) It’s now driven around 308K and the cold engine knocking sound bothers me. It doesn’t knock when idle or like in this video when you rev it up in neutral. 60K for injectors, replaced at the dealer, is quite short a lifespan is it not?
so the simple answer is dont buy a toyota period, im sure there are other vehicles out there that surely dont need injector replacement at low k's for a diesel but then again we are in a society where stuff is made to not last long.
