@ComicsExplained Its not too complicated to place Astonishing X-Men, Rob. Although it was never meant to be the main, cannon x-book, it sort of just became it out of fan demand. But... "Gifted" and "Dangerous" happen first, then "House of M", then "Torn" and "Unstoppable"
Colossus is a bad ass and one of my favorite characters in the X-Men. He is the hope, he is the honor, he is a valiant protector of the ones he loves. Totally love this issue of the X-Men.

You know, something struck me that just made me laugh. Colossus's last name is Rasputin, and Grigori Rasputin was supposedly so unkillable that it took 3-4 consecutive assassinations, beating him, shooting him, and throwing him in a frozen lake, for him to finally die, and even then what killed him was drowning. I find it funny that Colossus is covered in metal, which makes him harder to kill, and now he's come back from the dead, he's really living up to that last name of his.
Love this. I am an OG. Started reading marvel back in 69, collected X-men, and all X-books, until 90 - 92. My kids are all grown, and out, and now I am looking to get back into my childhood love. Your videos are mana, your storytelling reminds me of me giving background when my kids found what was left of my old collection, on about 2k of books I could not sell before getting a family. You are boss, for a kid. :)
Okay, Colossus is one of the rare X-men that I couldn't resist keeping up on. I'm a DC man, but Colossus, Iron Man, Psylocke, Emma Frost and a few others were always interesting. I used to be into Deadpool, but he's going places that lead to me falling out of his loop.
The come back of colossus what just amazing ! And the art of cassady is amazing. He draws it like a movie, how kitty is in shock, how the bullets ricochets on him, amazing work
0:01 to 0:45 this is why i watch ComicsExplained instead of trying to get into them, i have tried a few times in the past but it's hard trying to figure out where to start, which timelines to read, what is and is not important from the pat in comparison to the current story arc i am reading. I love marvel because of it's amazingly in depth universe but it's also a lot to take in.
When you hear Xmen chronology and you get your hopes up for Phoenix, dark Phoenix and Inferno then you hear between house of M...bad times but still cool
NGL, it took me 2 months of spare time planning exactly where to get back into X-Men before starting House of M, because even though they said you could jump right in without knowing anything, & I was a few decades out of the loop, the whole run kept slam dunking references to past events.
"Nick Fury sees all and knows all", confirms my paranoid suspicion that Fury is a physical manifestation of The One Above All so he/it can experience his creation from a human viewpoint.
Rob, awesome coverage of Piotr's return. When I read the issue where he had been reborn, I went out and bought two more copies for my collection. And the start of the Breakworld story was awesome, keep up the great work!
Maybe it's me, but after so many years of reading X-Men it's just like this bunch of info that gets mash together and it makes it hard to follow, I'm glad there's someone like Rob that takes the time to explain it 👍🏼
Thanks, @ComicsExplained. I'm one of those people who read House of M and then got overwhelmed. Right now I'm reading Superior Spiderman. I just gave up on X-Men! But, I'd love to get back to that world. Thanks for being my guide :-)
I love the X-Men characters. But their stories are so jumbled it's hard to keep up. Please do a chronological playlist, that might just be the perfect tool to get myself back into their stories
the fastball special is one of my childhood fav geek moments... whenever it happened. Then I watched the deadpool movie with ol' rasputin and my brain just went "DEADBALL SPECIAL!" ... since then I have not been able to get a flying wade screaming "Baby's Got a new Ponyyyyyyyeeeeargh!!" out of my mind! ... I love Colossus. Love your videos man, your comic knowledge is Omega Level! now lets hope Fox reads this and lets Colossus throw Deadpool at Cable!
Wazup Rob l enjoy your videos the most and 15 to 25 minutes length are my favorite and I watch those first like when I wake up getting ready for work and before I go to sleep keep doing awesome work my friend
My favorite Colossus moment is when he and Kitty first split and he goes to a bar with Nightcrawler and Wolverine and they run into Juggernaut. Kurt goes to help and Logan's all like "Nah, he's got this coming". Then Juggernaut hits him with the bar (the metal bit), and then the bar (the big wooden bit) and then the bar (the whole freaking building).
The "fastball special" was done in one of the X-men films already. It takes place when Wolverine and the others are practicing in the Danger Room. Colossus picks him up, spins n a circle and toss James towards a Centennal.
Jonathan Parker but thats not the fastball special. The Fastball Special is when Colossus throws Wolverine with one hand like a baseball- literally like a hard fastball. That scene was a cool homage, but was not the actual thing.
