There are more Nigerians than other nationals on death row in Malaysia, Amnesty International said in a new report. According to the report, f the 568 foreign nationals on death row for various offenses in Malaysia, 119 are Nigerians. Nigeria tops the list of foreign nationals with 21%, followed by Indonesia (16%), Iran (15%), India (10%), Philippines (8%) and Thailand (6%). Is there a reason for this? and what is the Nigerian government doing to rescue these people?

Even Malaysians breaking the drugs law face the same death penalty, so what makes foreigners so especially to be exempted. Malaysian laws don't discriminate.

Folks what are u all talking about, just going round n round the topic. The basic issue is corruption, an average nigerian thathas made to the age of 30 is immediately saddled wth all kinds of responsibility inckuding pressure from family extensions. To the average hussler, its either i become rich or i die trying. Look atthe nigerian house of reps budgeting billions of naira to buy cars for their members. This is done every year, the ones bought four yrs ago is dashed to the honrsble member for his hard work. Tell me one bill from the Buhari/Lawan senate that addressed the concern of the common man? Today they want to ban generator which is in line wth their hate speexh bill. If there is no power, no generator, you csnt block about what is happening and csn reach either. Just one example if how nigeria has become what it is today. People are killed, babies are killed, women are rapped, farmland destroyed and senate cannit remive an incompetennt president.

I love my fellow Nigerians and I'll always do...however, the main problem I have with some fellow Nigerians is that they don't like to humble themselves. If you wanna live a comfortable life, then work harder but not by indulging in a criminal offenses and activities. Why not for Christ sake respect yourself and the laws of the country you find yourself in? I live in Canada and I respect myself. All my day to day activities are: work, gym and church. No party and no so much mingling. Guys respect yourself. You were opportune enough to travel outside Nigeria, crossed the seas and oceans, flew over how many thousands thousand feet and kilometers and you still don't wanna take that into consideration and keep it cool with the laws and trust God for life transformation. So down here in South Africa they do whatever they can to lay their hands on it. They'd even kill for it. That's the reputation they've built for themselves over the years. So when South Africans got fed up all of Africa lumped us as xenophobic. We don't believe we're xenophobic because there's our neighbours who are just living life like us and are ok to legally work towards their earnings. They stay with us and we're a family together. We believe calling us xenophobic is a lame attempt to get us to surrender and silent.

Is there no poor and homeless in America? Yet there are individual that are very rich in the world there. Poverty is a thing of the mind, if you decide today that you don't want to be poor, all you need to do is to find genuine and legal things to do, and be serious about it, do it very passionately, work hard, work rightly, sooner or later you will be out of poverty. Think of what can get you out of poverty and do it, start from somewhere and cultivate the habit of growing bigger. Not by indulging in criminality. There are many young farmers of various types in Nigeria who owns house and car from their farm work.

@@mikega1252 There is no where in the world whereby wealth are being distributed equally, except you are asking for communist system of government, even there, the leadership take more themselves. Take advantage of what is around you to get out of poverty, even the holy book and our Lord Jesus Christ says there will always be poor on earth. So that is an information, if you don't want to be one of them, do something for yourself that will take you out of the group of poor people. Information beings knowledge, and knowledge beings power, and power makes you achieve your goals and dreams in life. Put that power to work in the right and legitimate ways, you are on your way to success. Don't wait or expect anyone to come and distribute wealth for you. Go, get something done and make wealth for yourself and family. Nigeria today's situation as a developing country provide great opportunity for the visionary to become rich. Because there are so much in need, therefore there is so much to do, you make money by solving problems for people, by providing solutions to situation, by rendering services for those in need of it.

The problem with Nigeria is multidimensional. To suggest that because NDLE officials collect bribe and turn a blind eye is amiss of the underlying absence of verifiable data on people. For example, there is no crime reference data base. Therefore, how can an officer of law access the criminality of a potential traveller? By default, we Nigerians are hypocritical by nature and our country has been systematically designed to facilitate corruption. There is social decadence, where illicit wealth is celebrated. The biggest problem in Nigeria is ethnicity and religion. Until, we address these problems, let's stop the too much grammar. We need a social revolution.

Isimoa Gwam You have made a valid point here. Nigeria has a lot to offer. We need to look inward and stop blaming others. Remember if you elect a corrupt politician in lieu of a gift you received from him, don’t expect that politician to have integrity.

Danny P. : you don’t know me and because of my last name you already ascribed a life of criminality to me showed that your are a tribal bigot. If in 21st century Nigeria cannot boast of good roads , constant supply of electricity and water and you are happy with it then you are not a normal human being . If the spate of killings and kidnappings and corruption in Nigeria is your dream of Utopia then your personality and the way you articulate facts stinks.

@@walterumeh4622 we know nigerian Government are not trying, but going to abroad is to go and look for better life and plan for better future in a legal way, not to go and spoil there children life with drug, we arnt the country with bad government, we only want to be extremely rich between 24 hours. Lets be honest bro, any offence we commit outside nigeria,we dont need to blame the government for that,we have to be responsible for that, because if you lives in Rome you have to lives like Roman and respect there law, but most of these our generation of nigerian travelling to abroad now dont even know what is call integration anywhere they go. Especially if they go to non english speaking country. They constitute nuisance a lot.

Wow. I didn’t know it was so bad in Nigeria. I haven’t been back in a long time. I thought the country was thriving.

It is thriving and rapidly progessing, but the vast majority of the 170million plus citizens are yet to benefit economically.

@@Readyplayer8 that's s just an illusion. Take those Rose coloured glasses off and you'll see where Nigeria is actually headed. If the youth doesn't take up space in governance to change things, a decade and over will come and Nigeria will still be where it is.

There’s a simple saying that says “when you go to Rome; does as the Romans do”!!!! If a country says this is their rules, why should you think that you are above the law in that country, Nigeria still has death penalty, but you want to talk about other sovereign nation. Us African really need to change our mindset, you trafficking drugs are killing those users as well and you dont care about their life so why should these traffickers be spared?

I hope that Malaysia does abolish the death penalty. These are poor black brothers and sisters who got caught up in this evil world where most people worship money and other material things. They don’t deserve to die.

I tire oo, only them form cultists and sell drug do human trafficking in another man country, if they even see there fellow Nigerian trying to integrate and chase for better life, they will be looking at him as if he's a fool, even the prostitutes among them, even if they give them work, they will reject it, because they believe on making money with there pussy. Who never know them will always pitty for them, may Go deliver them. At the end na Buhari, I never know any government that is good in that country, even if then carry drug for abroad and they cought them,na still Buhari or government, all nigerian youth need deliverance against too hight expectation.
