This looks more reminiscent of the Metal Gear Solid franchise than something from Silent Hill. Personally I'm a horror fan myself, so when P.T took the internet by storm I was intrigued. Whatever the original vision for Silent Hills was, I wish I had been born in the universe where we get to see it realized.
@@taistelusammakko5088 Well it is political in the narrow sense of rebuilding the remnants of a post-collapse (Dis)United States of America as part of the in game story. I can dig it, if real world politics don't bleed into the story overmuch, nothing more than say a distant echo of the shape of things to come...
Number 1! If you pay close attention you'll notice that Sam Porter Bridges is being played by Norman Reedus, famous for roles in Blade and the Walking Dead Series.... Number 2: If you missed it the scene is set in the oval office of the white houuuuuseeeee. The Oval office is where the Presi..... and so on. :P
People keep complaining about Kojima making super long cutscenes in his games but with acting, directing, soundtracks, production design and themes like this in them, I'd love to keep watching them over and over.
I never complained, i've been there since mgs released on ps1, i'm so used to kojima's style to the point where i just embrace everything i see in his games.
As long as they are quality and allow you to pause (or skip if you died) I dont care. The people who complain also complain about every game being a barely interactive movie now when that simply isnt true
DreyGames the cutscenes alone are probably longer than two hours and thirty minutes, he needs a game to tell his story because it’ll take like 40 hours. A tv series like the ones on Netflix could work but video games are more profitable.
Hard for the audience to have the same attachment in a game as a movie. In the game it is your actions that contribute to the story, in a movie you are just a spectator. In a movie you yell at the screen when the character does something stupid but in a game, you can only yell at yourself
Konami: *Cancels Silent Hills* Kojima: I am not getting involved with you, or anyone else, ever again... Konami: Wait! (*Announces Metal Gear Survive*) Kojima: See?... It is like I am not even here… Same as it ever was...
Except one problem: he announced his retirement BEFORE trying to work on silent hills, he expected Konami to allow him to complete silent hills while he went out and founded his own indepdent company. Also he was trying to leave metal gear behind since mgs2's ending. But I guess fiction is better than facts
Kojima sure seems to care about bringing people together. "This world will become one. I have found the way. Race, tribal affiliations, national borders- even our faces will be irrelevant. The world that The Boss envisioned will finally become a reality. And it will make mankind whole again."
Death Stranding is shaping up to be probably one of the most memorable games on the PS4. I would even say it's going to be one of the last AAA games on the PS4 considering that PS5 is coming in 2020. Let's hope the wait and anticipation was worth it.
no he can't, his amazing talent can't fit into 1-2hours screen. atleast need 4 hours for build up some character and background story then audience can proceed to main story
despite being so heavy on story and cutscenes kojima clearly loves games too much to deal with movies. it can be easy for some to forget how much he puts into game design so that it compliments the stories and vise versa
“I’m not being kept in a cell or anything like that. I’m allowed to use their facilities and to speak with you whenever I want. I just can’t leave the city.” Hmm... 😑 **suspicion intensifies**
Considering the cast for that game, that's pretty sure that they will be focused a lot on acting and on cutscenes, you'll definitely get your 1h+ cutscenes, that one looks amazing already !!
Well, just hope Kojima is doing his own thing again. When mgs4 came out everybody kept crying about the cutscenes. Then came mgs5 that had nearly no cutscenes. Just let the man do his thing. Btw it's a open world, don't worry if you like the gameplay there will be plenty.
While I think the majority of Metal Gear games are masterpieces, I personally wasn't a huge fan some of the choices he made for Peace Walker and Phantom Pain; namely the RPG elements and no one speaking in MGS5. Still, this game is starting to look very promising.
I agree with Sam and Amelie. Sam would rather be alone while Amelie wants everyone connected together. We can't force ideas onto others. I also agree with Sam about the shackles. Shackles are not symbols of bonds but that ur trapped in a cycle of cleaning up other peoples messes. To symbolize bonds with people is by holding hands or hugging not putting each other in shackles. I know that's probably not Ameilie's intentions but, when disaster strikes like the BTs and Craters, most people would rather work alone or protect their own people to survive. This game is beautiful and deserves game of the year award heck a movie award even lol :) Excellent work Kojima-san
it’s about playing a single player game making connections with others playing the game It’s about helping eachother out in a different way other than a co op experience Rebuilding civilization in America Making buildings highways etc Delivering packages to a disconnected nation A story driven game that had a tragedy happened to the world with main character sent on a mission to fix it in a eerie tone themes like BT supernatural monsters & homodemons ppl who kill creating blackouts ( craters ) for there own agendas and mules who are bandits who steal from you packages resources even your OWN shoes all while bonding and taking care of a baby
You can tell that this is a Kojima game when the briefing feels like is something from the past, something familiar but new, this is the next kind of "Metal Gear" it has the same vibes and i like that, of course with its own personality, i like the concept and how the story is complex but at the same time simple in terms of tasks and objetives, let us see what this new franchise is all about.
Did you guys know that you can literally reconstruct the map of this game. Like building roads, bridges, place to rest, and so on. We will see cities and towns within a month or two after the game had been released. Guaranteed.
But who will inhabit these towns? Npcs? It wont allow more than one player on the map so even if the towns and roads get built who will be in them? I love that we dont know the answers yet but everybody has so many questions and ideas.. i think that there will be big towns you find on your journey
@@punctuationman334 I understand, that's just my opinion. I'm just looking at it as a movie and in that context, the dialogue would seem out of place to me.
@@XunlimiteD101 No, this is a mission debriefing. Exposition is bad in a situation when either the narrative tells you something obvious or (the worse offense) explains something to a character that already knows it without reason. I.e. remind me about that. In this scenario, Sam had no knowledge of any of these events and they're spelling out the goals for him.
And some people think that doing delivery is boring. Meanwhile most open world rpg are filled with mundane quest that use the players as practically delivery man.
