I saw Death Therapy at Audiofeed last summer. It just amazes me how Jason can create such unique music from just using a bass guitar and drums. DT is basically what Becoming the Archetype would sound like without a six-stringed instrument.
yeah i found this nugget on the solidstate site and loved it! so i got the album on itunes and have been jamming the crap out of it...then later found out that this was the front man for BTA!!!it got me even more psyched!!! i love heavy techy melodic noise and mathcore?proggy stuff usually but i also was a rob zombie and manson fan in the 90s so i diG it!!!! also i am a christian now and these lyrics hit home for me!!!
That's amazing! I was listenting to this guys all the time in past few days and I gotta say that I haven't been so impressed in a long time! I love the vocals and lyrics, but what truly makes this guys awesome are their instrumentals! After being in this genre reallyyy long time I'm simply tired of almost each band repeating the same damn riffs all the time. Instrumentals as unique as this are really rare!
Go see them live if you can...watched them in Santa Cruz Fri night and going to see them in Petaluma tonight. Well, going to see Red, but DT is opening.......great live and so was Wolves At The Gate...
Give me rest Give me peace Give me strength to face the days of my unbelief Wake me when I'm dead Wake Wake me when I'm dead Are you alive? Or is it all in your head? How will you survive? If you're already dead Give me rest Give me peace Give me strength to face the days of my unbelief Take these scars Let them speak Of hope to lift me up in my day of defeat Wake me when I'm dead Wake Wake me when I'm dead Wake! Wake me when I'm dead Are you alive? Or is it all in your head? How will you survive? If you're already dead
I love Becoming the Archetype, this is the first song I've heard of Death Therapy and the sound reminds me of when I listened to Mushroomhead in highschool. I think its interesting and somewhat odd as well, but I love listening to bands with a positive & uplifting message! sign me up for more D.T.
go on your way well I agree but in an interview Jason said he intentionally looked for a drummer who had not played metal before so they could create an even more unique sound, it does fit the whole groove metal feel tho
