I’m already hearing conflicting information coming from this company. I heard the company say that employees were free to leave, but then this statement makes it sound like they were only dismissed AFTER the parking lot was flooded. What inconsistencies are there going to be in their next statement? Can their next statement be made under oath, in front of Congress?

Impact Plastics will have a ton of difficult questions to answer. This wasn’t some sporadic tornado. It takes HOURS for rushing water to meander down hill into that sort of a torrent. It’s not like it’s a busted pipe - it’s a massive inter-coastal tropical storm that’s forecast to make a bullseye in Appalachia. Seems like the company was indifferent to many of their employee plight. The God d place was already inundated with water before they could leave the lot. That’s crazy!!!

Two of my boys are out of school and we are going back to Davis Mountain Rd to continue to cut trees to get to people on the mountain due to a rock slide. I spoke with the FEMA lady yesterday while we were getting fuel and she said she has no funding. NONE… Federal government does not work there are to many obsticals that they create keeping it from working… Thank God NC Nation Guard is here to help. Now FL Nation Guard has shown up and are heading to North Asheville. Shut national help down… give that money back to us and the states to spend wisely.

Numbskull. Biden was on the phone Sunday with governors finding out what they needed and pledging federal assistance, which is on the ground now. trump showed up for a media stunt. He didn't offer help, how could he, he's not the president. Did you see him cut a personal check for 1 million dollars or trucks coming in with supplies that he paid for? In fact, he had the help that was there stop their work in order to build him that nice little wall in front of a podium, from the bricks of the demolished building behind him.

@@MM-mo2yc what does that even mean. He signed all emergency declarations for 5 states on Wednesday BEFORE landfill so resources and money was immediately available. He has been in frequent communication with the governors from each affected state as well as FEMA & cabinet leadership staff multiple times a day for briefings. It is just "never enough" for some people. This response is hands down better than the Charlie foxtrot of the pandemic
