fun fact: about the tunnel one, cornstarch and water (oobleck) is actually a really good way to go, if you have the stamina. As long as your constantly moving, oobleck will remain in a solid form until constant pressure is not applied. So actually, you can literally just run across the oobleck.

For the execution deathtrap, you could also use deep diver methods and hold your breath for minutes at a time. (and since these primitive creatures are restricted to strong forms of glass, unlike the saw franchise) you can simply stab out as many holes as you can in the glass and let the water drain. You could also use the remainder of the glass as a weapon if the tribe resists the survival of your execution.

Why do they just assume surviving is the desired option?

People have mentioned how oobleck (cornstarch and water) is actually safest because if you move fast enough it doesn't have enough time to displace to allow you to sink. But what people haven't mentioned is that linolenic acid is an oily substance less dense than water. This means that watery fluids will sink in it. Since humans are about 75% water, it would be impossible to actually swim in it or any other oil. You'd sink right to the bottom and drown in it.

The cornstarch and water forms oobleck, which is hard if you punch it, but like quicksand if you are still, so you might actually survive the oobleck

Actually, corn starch and water being mixed together could be a possible option too. This is because of how their molecules move around. When at rest, all of the molecules act like a liquid, but if pressure is put onto the substance, the molecules will scrunch up tight and become hard like a solid. Therefore, if you were to run or even jump your way across, the pressure you’d apply would make the route safe.

The last one, brain degeneration, as in Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease or Kuru, won’t kill you in a week. It will take a while, usually months to years.

Arrow to bear was simple. pressing up to the blades means I can choose what I would injure when the rock pushes me in so I had a high chance of living. Climb the spikes was a given just be dangerous. The pools of fluids, I needed to think. Blood would rot and go bad so the smell must have been horrible unless fresh, which would be the safest option but I was "wound". The cornstarch/water would be fine if you could run but the moment you fall in, it will drain your energy really fast, So yes the acid was also my choice assuming I could put a finger in and find out how I react to it. (I did not know what it was, so testing may be needed) I know how venom works would of drank that the moment it was mentioned. Maggots are very edible so that was an easy one (I was not sure on the other option but knowing plant berries are very dangerous it's best to avoid.) Now for the one that really confused me. Very fun, The statue one got me stumped, but going off colors of snakes I came to the conclusion yellow/green was fat no right off the bat and it was a toss-up between red and blue but to my knowledge, Blue seemed my best bet, (I had assumed they did something to the statue.) I had picked the vampire bat because it would have been scared of me. Chance of good survival but if bitten and rabies I have time to get that fixed once I'm free. I also would have drowned :] If I had a clear head and remembered my first aid stuff from BoyScouts then I would have remembered to sab the throat but the stress of everything would of caused me to drown. Lastly the prophecy. I remembered only after that eating brain is a big NO-NO. My choices were 1 and 3 and I knew they would be fine after a time. 2 was ..... lost to me so I failed this one as well.

Just the 1st one....the locals would have found my remains in an 4 inc ditch....

The Satin Bowerbird LOVES decorating it's nest with blue objects, so I assumed blue must be the safest color in nature. Just looked it up & it turns out another Bowerbird prefers green & white objects. Oh well at least I didn't die in a YT video lol

I actually did sort of well in identifying some of these options! The poisonous totems actually surprised me a bit, as I thought they would have been plant-based instead of mineral-based... but other than that, I id'ed the correct answers to the edibles and torture puzzles. While it looks like a freakish hell scorpion (part of its misnomer), the whip scorpion is actually a part of its own classification of arachnid. I also knew about the surprising venom of the male platypus (hence the specification in his description) and the the edible items to which were the most lethal if consumed: 'rosary beads' and, essentially, rodent feces. Rosary beads are partly nicknamed this because they look pretty and can be used to adorn a beautiful piece of jewelry. However, just one of these beads has so much of the 'deadliest plant-based toxin' that they could kill someone wearing one of these adorned beauties just through skin contact alone -- if worn constantly, someone could die from it in a matter days, or even weeks!

Oobleck (corn starch and water) you only sink if you STAND STILL. If you run, you can drag your legs and make across or just instantly keep jumping.

cornstarch and water forms a non-newtonian fluid, at low forces it acts like a liquid but high forces acts like a solid. People have run across pools of the stuff in other videos. Quick sand is also a non-newtonian fluid that is hard to escape because you must slowly pull yourself out. linolenic acid is still the better choice because of its low acidity level, while stopping in the non-newtonian fluid could spell disaster.
