-McPie- maybe the standard Stormtroopers had a language chooser in his/her helmet so it could communicate with other species on other planets say their trying to Find a fugitive,traitor(rogue) or a Bounty Hunter.
Lord Floyd stealth, they were used for more than defense, they're armor is better to protect, the death trooper units where powerful and useful, and had to meet high standards
Ok I'm at the start of the video my speculation and immediate thought: highest armour to weakest: 1.Death Trooper; they are special troops assigned to protect senior members of the galactic empire so would probably be equip with good armour. 2.Stormtrooper; they have standard armour to withstand 1 or 2 blaster bolts and not as heavy as Death trooper armour because it has to be more lightweight so they can be more agile to deal with more units. 3.Shoretrooper; they were designed for scarif and scarif being a tropical planet it would probably be quite hot and so they would want too heavyweight armour or they could die or at least not be fit for battle because of exhaustion or overheating. Technicality they weren't *just* for scarif. They are just tropical stormtroopers that go through a tour of duty before going back to being a standard stormtrooper. (I know it's a year late)
Bs they're jungle and amphibious warfare specialists. They haven't been detailed much but the starwars commander profile on them does say they are deployed on aquatic worlds
I guess I see Shoretroopers and Beach troopers as upgraded versions of scout troopers. I notice that the Empire's take on armor seems to focus on tech, awareness, versatility, survivability, and in comparison to clone armor, speed. Clone armor seemed to be higher quality and better at taking a few more hits, but when you're dead, you're dead. Stormtrooper armor is more advanced and flexible, but seems to be lower quality when it comes to taking damage. The benefit? It's lighter. There is a redeeming grace to Storm Trooper armor, though.... it's set up in such a way that your 2nd to last hit may paralyze you, instead of instantly killing you, so you could be paralyzed on the battle field instead of actually dead, to be recovered and live to fight another day.... Or starve to death. It's like the empire can recycle some of it's storm troopers if they tap out early.
High Chaos Gamer Well, let's take into account all Star Wars canon (SWB, Rogue One, Episode 6 etc). Death Trooper's seem like SEALs. Tactical, deadly and brute force. Shadow Troopers seem to have an edge because in canon, they have cloaking devices (in legends, I think they could even shape shift.) They seem more surgical, precise, less messy and more exact. Now...Imperial Royal Guard.....the wild card. Umm...actually I don't know anything about them in canon. I think (?) they are trained in some similar martial arts like the Jedi and Sith (some being force sensitive to an extent. Again, not sure if it's legends or canon) So.....brute force, cunning and precise, unknown. I dunno, it'd be awesome to see them all go toe to toe!
High Chaos Gamer like he said the cloaking devices on them gives them a good fast win but without the cloak the death troopers win shadow troopers but in reality shadows win 5/10 death 4/10 royale 1/10
It's space aged equipment designed to suffer the vaccuum of space for periods; I think it can handle the jungle! Also the desert requires special equipment.
Anyone notice how it looks like death troopers are carrying magazines for their weapons? I noticed that in the 5min cartoon series too. In the episode when an arc trooper are flying in to infiltrate a banking clan city the red colored commander slips something into what looks like a magazine pouch just like the death troopers.
Urban Glitch Yes but each power cell for their weapons in Canon gives them 500 shots. It's a future LMG. Not like their going to need 2000 rounds. Maybe in our day but not in theirs.
Urban Glitch Yet no other imperial infantry forces have it? Not to mention it's in a pretty stupid position on their person. It was only to make them look cooler but as an actual person of military back round I find it to look useless.
Rade Ue Masq Yes it is to look cool, however I believe that because they have 500 rounds per magazine, it will take them a while before they have to reload, so it is better to have it out the way on the shoulder until required
I think the ShoreTrooper armour and the Hover tank Trooper (Not sure if that's their actual name but the drove a hover tank on Jedah so that's what I'm calling them) armour was my favourite out of the Rouge One trooper armours their helmets just look extremely interesting to me kinda hope we see more of them in future Star Wars material.
For some reason I get silly images in my head when it comes to Shoretroopers. Like them running to escape incoming waves, stopping the pursuit of rebels if they leave the shoreline, armor having the ability to apply sunscreen, checking the tide charts so they don't get stranded, etc.
I'd like to see a mix of death and shore, because the mobility of the shore with beach/multiterrian ready suit systems with the FoF system and reflex coating it'd make a great shock trooper capable of acting also as a sapper
Something that has not been confirmed yet, although highly probable. Death Troopers have vocal scramblers in their helmet, which allows them to communicate only between one another and prevents eavesdropping.
The fact that Shore Troopers exist still bugs me. Just call them Scarif Troopers, but Shore Troopers sounds so stupid. They are specially trained to fight on beaches ? What ? Thats a giant waste of ressources for the Empire.
I like to think shoretroopers are more for tropical climates in general (after all Scarif has a lot of jungles) and special adaptations are required for heat, humidity and bright sunlight
RafaelGamez Scout Trooper aren't bound to any kind of envoirment because they are scouts. In ROTJ you can see them fighting alongside normal Stormtroopers. I can't say anything about Shocktroopers because I never played Battlefront.

Nickolas Jackson. The body armor is likely the same, possibly so because only their upper body will be exposed to enemy fire in an turret-open position. Also, the helmet is different, with prominent design features (strakes) on the chin. According to lore, that helmet helps them interface better with vehicles
Nice video, my favorite one is none of these, but Imperial Royal Guard. :) Would like to see a video like this but talking about the other stormtrooper like the scout trooper and the snow trooper. Even could be the TIE pilots included. :)
Oh btw the normal storm trooper helmets sound really cool everything was turned off and locked (except the polarized lenses) too prevent the helmets too be sold on the black market

i mean, storm trooper armour also has the same environmental/temperature control as the shoretrooper armour, in addition, unlike shoretrooper armour stormtrooper armour can be worn in space (if you want proof for that there are stormtroopers just casually walking around in space on patrol around the exterior of the shield gate in rogue one, in addition to the stormtroopers escorting vader in the rebel hangar at the end of the movie)
Since they all look alike and wear the same thing how do they tell the Troopers apart? it seem like there would be a number or something printed on there uniform to identify them.
is the armor worn by stormtroopers like a plasticy material? would ballistic bullets penetrate it? In Earth's metals, would it be as strong and hard as steel? or aluminum? or just thin flexible plastic?
Riceball01 Their armor actually does stop blasters. When Stormtroopers get shot, they don't die, they just get knocked out. Their armor spreads out the blast throughout the armor.
And what about scoutroopers? Sandtroopers? Seatroopers? Spacetroopers? and of course famed Darktroopers (I know I know they are droids, but still comparison would be cool).
