I lived and worked in Death Valley for several years. It's the only place I've ever missed. This gorgeous video captured not only the beauty, but the sense of spacious solitude. Thank you.
Congratulations on the tenth anniversary of your video being posted at RU-vid. Hard to believe a decade has passed. During the past ten years there has been a super-bloom and devastating flood, but the beauty of my favorite national park remains.
106 at Badwater June 2008. Windstorm in Furnace Creek after Artist Fault Block tour 4pm. Zabriskie Point sunrise, Dante's View chill above, down to sand dunes, up Emigrant Canyon joshua trees, out through Towne Pass. What a park! Great video thanks.
I haven't been there in August but I can say spring is a great season to go if you're concerned about temps, if you have the chance to go then. The temps are lower then and it's more likely to be wildflower season. Pack lots of water regardless. :)
I travelled around Southwest USA in 2005 and 2006. Omg in June2006 it was so hot there. at 12'o clock temperature was already 50°c and would raise to 53°c in the afternoon. One day afterwards we took a picture in the snow in Yosemite National Park. Totally crazy contrast!
Love Death Valley. You got some beautiful shots. I just uploaded a video of my trip as well. Hopefully someday I'll have a nicer camera. Thanks for sharing!
I will be spending some time out west at the end of February. I will be driving from LA to Las Vegas and I think I need to pay a visit to Death Valley.
beautiful movie! The second part of the movie, in the sand dunes, I love also the music you chose, Where is it from? who's th artist? what's the name of the theme?
death valley...despite the fact that it contains virtually no life...is the most beautiful place ive ever been. But its best to go in the winter or early spring cuz its miserably hot in the summer
can't you tell by the video? its gorgeous. Anyways, it has the lowest point in the entire western hemisphere at 282 ft. below sea level also it has the highest average temperature in the summer. the AVERAGE temp. in the summer is 120 degrees. its also extremely desolate and stunning
some more reasons: there isn't very much water that isn't saturated with ground salts, and also the 1849'ers crossing it were unprepared and many died, trying to cross it to get to gold country. Also it's in a rain shadow, and it almost never gets precipitation at ground level.
@lewiss1100 That is what my girlfriend thought... *Whats there to see in a dry hot desert* She loved the drive, the views, the quietness. Not too many people know about this place. We were at Furnace Creek Ranch and its a very different experience. Planning to go back again in December, when the temperatures are much cooler. It is the lowest, driest, and hottest locations in North America. I noticed many tourists from Germany and France. Not many people go to DV but the ones that do, love it.
went in the summer hottest it got was 126 farenheit or 52.2 degrees celsius the heat burnt your eyes but an amazing place definetly somewhere i'd go again.
Wow, my music video was filmed there. It was 130F... I couldn't breath but had to actually sing for the video. Check out my "Imagination" music video: Siggul Imagination
