In this video, we visit Death Valley National Park and Las Vegas. Since we were there the end of March, temperatures were cool, if not cold at times. Death Valley National Park was closed in August 2023, because of record breaking rainfall, from Hurricane Hilary. They received 2.2” in one day, breaking the former record of 1.7”. This caused flooding that damaged roads and piled up debris, up to 10’ high in some places. It also created a lake in Badwater Basin, that measured up to 7 miles long and 4 miles wide. It was also thought to be 2’-3’ in depth and lasted 6 weeks before evaporating, as the days became warmer. We felt very blessed to be there at that time and to be able to witness this phenomenal body of water, known as Lake Manly.
We also went to Las Vegas for the day, seeing Caesars Palace, The Bellagio, and The Sphere.
All-in-all, this was a great visit, especially at this time of year. If you’ve never been, and have always wanted to go, please join us on our journey to Death Valley National Park and Las Vegas.
