Death Valley National Park is a desolate place with a sparse desert landscape that takes a while to fully appreciate. After exploring Highway 395 over two days, we decided to drive back to Southern California and take an excursion to Death Valley on the way. This was a long day in the heat of summer, but I wanted to see what the park was like in the summer and show my dad some of my favorite spots. Be sure you prepare if you want to visit the park like this with lots of water and all of your hiking early in the day.
