The "Nordic look" to the video is because The Poetic Edda is in actuality a compilation of the greatest poems from Norse methology which recalls the war, stiff and creation of the Norse gods and the heros of the time. Supper sick concept and visuals are very stunning.
I always saw the potential in them but once The Divine Stigmata came out I started paying real attention to them. This Synestia EP is a whole other level now.
Prolly my favourite thing about the song is the riffy section at around 1:20 in the song where they have all the guitar panned to the left and the violin panned to the right and having them both mimic one another by playing the same thing sounds so damn sick
The blackened deathcore is, which is kinda the trend nowadays. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I love Lorna and Shadow of Intent, Worm Shepherd, Mental Cruelty, etc.
You ever hear a song where you just have to lean against a nearby wall and make a face like you're about to sob because its so heavy and well put together? This is that song.
This is the first song that actually shocked me with it's ending breakdown. I was in genuine awe the entire time I was listening to this. It's pretty safe to say that if they have to keep up with this, all other symphonic deathcore bands are fucked. 😂
The Symphonic Deathcore elements and guitar tones reminds me a lot of earlier Shadow of Intent. Which is awesome, loved this song and video through and through.
They do so much right but the fact that they are bringing face shredding riffage to deathcore makes me so happy, because we've really been lacking in that area.

"Bad year for Deathcore" meanwhile To The Grave doing heavy, melodic and unusal songs, Worm Shepard opening the gates of hell with a breakdown, Shrine of Malice re-released Malignance, Brand Of Sacrifice releasing a face melter EP, SOTS, Mental Cruelty, Ov Sulfur, Crown Magnetar all releasing at least solid albums, Larcenia Roe starting, STP releasing Viking, a possible new IA album near Christmas, Classic deathcore bands like TAIM, Suicide Silence, Chelsea Grin releasing new albums, CJ McCreery and his band releasing 2 bangers, Dickie Allen starting with Scarlet Rot and releasing new Scumfuck, a possible Darko US track and probably more I can't think of.
yeah that was for sure a banger track for Deathcore this year. DT/S i think are one of the only deathcore acts atm i can really get into because of the mix of deathcore's heaviness and some legitimately engaging riffs
can we just say, vocals are amazing. Disembodied Tyrant has always had gnarly vocals. but that guitar riff? the simple but so effective guitar riff… I love it.
Bro these two bands are living the genre DEATHCORE and you can hear it every second in their last two songs from their new EP. And specially that exotic part from Ben Duerr.. it results a high-quality Deathcore song with a touch of darkened air in it... damn!
Wish more deathcore songs would be like this. Ok I did not care for the generic breakdown at the end, but I would argue that song was prog. Deathcore. ( because you said this year was more prog. It fits)
I love how in the transition part near the beginning, they have the guitar panned to the left, and the violin (Or whatever instrument that is) panned to the right. It's a cool little detail that I haven't seen anyone else talk about
maybe easier for a vocalist to discern, but when the ending breakdown came you just hear ben coming in with the build up and get hyped. Like come on give me the nasty 😂
@@METALBIRB I am kind of glad you did write the title, I don't think I would have clicked on it otherwise. I really don't care for deathcore outside of the weirder bands like HLB. So I reluctantly clicked on it, and I am very glad I did. Incredible song.
When Viking came out I thought it was the best deathcore of the year with I, The Devourer. Then came Nose Tork which put them both to shame, I thought it couldn’t get better. And now this somehow is better. Darko has a lot to live up to.
