I am a massive car guy and although I like the mix of presenters and what they all say is fine. The camera work is off putting with all the focusing tricks and I hate the way you eleminate cars as you go. If the Jag was the best at handling it doesn't even get a chance and thus none of this info could help a buying decision

I disagree. The camera work has always been a character trait of the show, it wouldn't be Fifth Gear without it.

Meant as constructive feedback: 1) Use specialist timing gear 2) Have all cars do all tests instead of subjectively eliminating 3) When setting laptimes, same driver please

Good call - the elimination process means a different winner depending on the order of tests - not really a full comparison. But then the cars are not direct competitors either???

You could literally, and diversely, remove car(s) you personally* didn't like by sorting out what order they do the different tests in and thus remove the car(s) you personally* don't like immediately. I'm sure that the Jaguar, being more of a GT car than an outright sports car, would have done really well in the daily drive. * For personally, read _The amount of cash some car maker may surreptitiously shove into your back pocket in error!_ ;-))...

"Dampening" is the act of making something wet. "Damping" is the act of controlling or reducing the motion of an object. Shock absorbers are dampers, not "dampeners"... unless they're leaking.

They do like to mess with the numbers, how did we get from 3 tenths to half a second slower for the Jag, and it all rubbish anyway as it's down to the accuracy of the button press and observation of the finish line, use timing lights or don't bother as it's meaningless.

Sooo they eliminate the best drivers car before actually doing any spirited driving? Other than a straight line drag, where naturally the cheapest possible Cayman they could find was slower than the top spec Z4 and TT? Makes sense, lads, good job.

The first car I saw Vicki review was the Ferrari 360 CS when I was in college. She achieved dream girl status then. 20 years later…there’s still something about her. I respect her reviews but there’s that little extra for me

Why are you eliminating cars from various tests? I appreciate your subjective opinions and cell phone telemetry but all of the cars should have completed each test. Me thinks the Cayman was kept out of the track test for a reason.

It's a 718 Cayman T, so it's basically a stripped-out vanilla 718 Cayman. 718 Cayman S might be a better bet, but it's more expensive.

The new-gen Z4 is not available as a coupe. You have to buy the Toyota A90 Supra if you want a coupe version.

They got rid of the porsche because it was too noisy and a bit firm on the road! It's a sports car FFS. If you want a sofa with wheels, go buy a GT or a saloon car. We all know fine well the porsche would have destroyed them all on a twisty road and round a track. They ultimately ended up with the worst two cars. The audi being the ugliest and the BMW being the dullest fattest and heaviest. Utter farce of a test.

It still amazes me that a show like fifth gear can't afford a proper timing system. My kids BMX bike racing team has a portable timing system for any track we go to that tells the coach every kids time.

In convertable trim, the TR-RS is quite a bit heavier. So if that was the model compared to the Z4, the outcome might have been different.

Hardly a fair test, massive difference in power between the four cars, i stopped watching after the first test. So the Jaguar doesn't even get to show how it handled on the road. I have the older v6s and i would still choose it over any of those 3 German euro boxes, all of them good cars but so boring.

31:20 £8k for an E89 Z4? Best of luck getting that kind of value in my country. The cheapest E89 Z4 I can find in my country cost more than £16,500, and that's for the sDrive23i with a 2.5L inline-6 engine.

Echoing comments below - please standardise the tests And if the Cayman is the bench mark, (or any benchmark test) do the 'death match' within the competitors, with the winner facing the reigning champion... Final comment - to add subjectivity, which one would the presenter spend their own money on? Much love to all the presenters.

How you can give a Mazda scores this low? this is one of most reliable cars you an buy. the ride is good it look nice.. this does not make sense. I also wonder how barely budget youtube channel can upload in 4K but you still upload in 1080p... we in 2023 not 2013

Badly flawed review The jaguar would have been good as a road car and the porche good on the track. The result of the review is dependent on the sequence of the tests.
