Awesome. I remember when this album came out. I went to the nearest city to get it. Always wandered who else was listening to this music besides me in the small town I grew up in 🤘

I have a similar story. I was in my room at the bottom of the house listening to metal one afternoon, and I just finished cranking "Hate" by Sinister, and then I moved on to Vulgar Display Of Power by Pantera. My grandma came down a little bit later and said that she preferred "the previous album". Lol. My theory is that she just couldn't hear the album very well because she had lost most of her hearing of low-end frequencies. Dunno. But she was super Catholic, and Sinister is super satanic, so it was a match made in heaven I suppose. Literally.

They probably already know. Chuck's family would have inherited his rights to his music and without an original band member playing in this group (that I can see), they would have had to get permission to do the performances. I'm of course going by US law.

@@toddmiller5322 afaik these guys are russian so that may not apply. in any case, in a couple of years it'll be 25 years since Chuck's death, and his music (assuming he is the only composer) will be nationalised-ish, as in you won't need permission to play it. Just like no one needs Bach's permission to play his pieces :)

​@@deanboy2416 the word you're looking for is "Public Domain." Also Walt Disney died 55 years ago, yet everything created before his death is not public domain. Why? Because the rights belong to a business that he owned, and that business can be perpetual indefinitely. Now I don't know if Chuck did that, but he was very smart. If he created a corporation and all of his written works were property of that corporation, all he had to do was make a family trust (with it's own rules to manage the corporation's tax filings and financial distributions to whomever he wanted) one of the shareholders of that corporation and then revert all his stock to that trust upon his death. The trust would live on in perpetuity depending on how he wrote it, keeping the corporation alive, and never relinquishing the rights to his music to public domain. Those types of things didn't exist when Bach was alive. I'm not saying he did, I'm just saying he could have and you don't have to be rich to do any of it. As for the copyright issue, even China has in some regards recognized copyrights filed in other countries, and they were the worst. It just makes economic sense. You recognize copyrights filed elsewhere, otherwise you don't have your copyrights respected. I can't speak with any level of surety in this particular situation, just that it's how it normally works.

@@Zmej420BlazeIt there is no such thing as a "fair use cover", the only way you can legally use someone else's music without permission is if it's a parody or a review and those have specific requirements. Just because some band in a local dive plays Lynyrd Skynyrd and gets away with it doesn't make it legal, they just didn't get caught. It doesn't matter if they alter a bar here or there, it's the same song structurally overall. Same thing with layering on additional instruments, the guitar and drum tracks are still Death are they not? You CANNOT use someone else's music publicly, for profit or not for profit, unless it's a legally defined parody or a review. PERIOD

Absolutely. He was such a pioneer and visionary, we can only imagine the greatness he would have achieved had he not been taken from us. Not in just his music either, Chuck was also a very profound lyricist as well.

Same feeling that I have with other personalities like George Carlin and Carl Sagan, they all left too soon, even though Carlin made it past 70

and they say USA takes cares of their heros.... It is a shame this guy had to die because he had no healthcare insurance....such a lost.

Ehm, no. This isn't contemporary classical music, it is an another genre. Anyway these are only tags, none of them could change the beauty of the music. Great and interesting work indeed.
