I am sorry but I do not agree at all. Danny and Oti were not that impressive with the AT. Debbie's was the best AT ever on SCD. In terms of male ATs, I consider Harry Judd, Jason Donavan and Mark Ramperkash to be streets ahead of Danny's. Can I ask what did you think of Louise and Kevin's from 2016? Thought it was way overmarked personally!

it really did!! just that last lift where it looked like Giovanni threw her around like a spinning top let them down a little. otherwise absolutely spine-chilling stuff, can’t stop rewatching it!!

Josh Rainsford i think it was maybe because her ganchos could’ve been a bit sharper. Not sure though as I’m no expert. Still, she danced really well!

Janaeya Glittaz actually they were saying I️t about Danny too but the whole talk about experience is dumb regardless. The same people that complain about experience are the same one that loves perfect dances like these that they won’t get from an amateur. Experienced people will always be on the show so I️t shouldn’t matter

It seems Debbie is not well liked by the British public so they keep harping on this almost 60 yr old woman’s experience from 30+ yrs ago. Jay McGuinness had a lot of dance training yet the only person who was bringing it up the year he won was James Jordan because the public liked him.

Care to specify the dance in which Danny Mac was shirtless? To the best of my recollection, there has never been a dancer shirtless on strictly. Also to the best of my recollection, while there have certainly been a lot of capable dancers on Strictly before, no previous contestant has actually been a professional dancer which Debbie McGee has.

Eva Jones It's really weird. I think men get away with experience far more easily than the women. Jay was in dance classes as a kid, stage school in teens then straight into performing with a band. Danny was stage school trained then performed on the West End. Bar actually training in ballroom and latin, what more advantages could you need to win a dance competition against some who haven't danced a step in their lives? It's the women who seem to take all the criticism, despite often having equal or lesser training/experience to their male counterparts.

Agreed until yoi started slating Ore. He was a worthy winner last year. Also you point out about Alex's dance experience and theatrical production in the past but forget Danny was the same. Ore had no experience and grew into an amazing showman who deserved his 40s in the final and to win.

Mary R agree with you completely. Some of the dances admittedly may be easier for her due to ballet such as the rumba but the paso and that, come on, do not resemble ballet in the slightest! You have just said exactly what the haters all need to know, congrats.

Aaron Wilkins agreed, Ore deserved the win last year.

Sorry if I rattled your cage, but where did I "slate" Ore. Firstly the reason for mentioning "dance training" was that it is held against some people, as was the case with Danny and now Debbie, but doesn't seem to matter for others like Alexandra. In very many respects, dance experience often works against them in that the judges expectations are higher and therefore tend to undermark, as Darcy did last night with Debbie. However for me, dance experience matters not a jot - as I said, it is a dance competition. Secondly, as a dancer, the most technically perfect dancers without the emotional connection to the dance and music leave me cold. Now whilst I would be the first to acknowledge that Ore, with allegedly no dance experience, made remarkable progress to become an exceptionally good dancer, he didn't touch me. As Shirley said last night, it's about the emotional connection you have with the dancer. Danny's dancing aside, from his technical prowess was sublime, exciting, intense and in such complete harmony with the music and his partner that he connected emotionally to me on so many levels in a way that Ore never could, so in my mind, Danny was always the winner. For me, It will always be about that extra dimension, and not just a series of perfectly executed steps. Clearly you feel differently, which is your prerogative, but nowhere did I "slate" Ore. Hopefully on this we will just have to agree to disagree.
