Listen to the entire interview here. www.wnyc.org/shows/lopate/epis... Actress Debbie Reynolds stops by to talk about her debut solo show at Café Carlyle, "An Evening of Music and Comedy."
Whenever I feel sad I love to watch Debbie Reynolds dance in the Unsinkable Molly Brown. Her talent and energy always lifts my spirits. Love you Debbie!!
What a complicated, complex relationship these two women had. Debbie never left her family's side and never let them forget it. I love their story and hope they are having a blast wherever they are!
My SWEET Mom looked like Debbie when they were both young....they were only 2 years apart...so my entire life I LOVED Debbie Reynolds...her passing hits hard....I will always LOVE this lady....BLESS YOU and Rest in PEACE....
There is something so sweet about this video. Debbie was always sweet but there's something about this particular clip that is just so lovely. The studio, the angle, the lightin ,Debbie, all of it. How sad she never found a good man. My god, if Debbie Reynolds couldn't get a man to love her what chance do the rest of us have?
Debbie Reynolds is "a laugh" in that she's very funny ... successful in her comedic endeavors (a brilliant mimic of others' voices and behavioral styles) and a multifaceted great talented, creative actress. Having her as a mother sounds like ... what the Fun. And she has a sterling character. With humor and generosity survived two bad husbands, the second of whom left her with huge debt that unsinkable Debbie repaid fully by working hard.
Truth be told I think that Eddie And Debbie did not look like they went together. Young they were a cute couple but as they got older they looked like an odd pairing.
Debbie's narratives are interesting, to those interested in her topics ... of her craft and history in show business. If you're not, why are you here? Were Carrie more historically astute, she'd better sympathize and empathize with her mom. Carrie's talents are different ... she writes, but can't sing or dance. People are uniquely gifted and not.
JudgeJulieLit Carrie was a FANTASTIC singer, but nobody would know because she just didn't like singing. Go watch her and her mother sing together at the end of the Oprah episode they were on about 5yrs ago. Really good!. 😀
Not so much lame but after hearing so many of her interviews the last 20 years, she does run through her same routine a bit much. I suppose other comedians/actors can start sounding like a broken record as well after being interviewed so many times.
Carrie has been through alot because of being bipolar and manic depressant. She has had shock treatment several times and that is very hard on the body. Debbie has been a great mom and support to her daughter.
