The Kennedy Center's Mark Twain Prize, which is named to honor one of the world’s greatest humorists, was awarded to Kevin Hart at a gala performance featuring some of the biggest names in comedy and entertainment -- including Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Jimmy Fallon, Tiffany Haddish, Chelsea Handler, J.B. Smoove, Keith Robertson, Nelly, The Plastic Cup Boyz, Na’im Lynn, Nick Cannon, Lewis Dix, "Lil Dicky" and more -- on March 24th, 2024, and premieres on Netflix May, 11th 2024 during the Netflix is a Joke Fest.

Yeah, I don't get this one. I'm not sure about the Julia Louis Dreyfus one either. Usually the recipient has to create content. As far as I know Julia wasn't a writer or creator.

⁠@@bossfan49The Mark Twain Prize honors Comedians whether they’re Writer and Directors like Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, And Neil Simon or Comic Actors like Bill Murray, Will Ferrell, and Julia Louis Dreyfus or Stand up Comedians like Pryor, Carlin, Chappelle, and Kevin Hart.

@@106andie I know what the award is for and I know all the other recipients. Julia is the only one who is basically just an actor. All the others were also writers, created original characters, etc.. Julia was part of the SNL ensemble for a couple years but not a writer.. mostly just a sketch actor. And she was a co-producer for a couple of her tv shows. Maybe there will be others like her in the future, but so far she was the first one.
