Deborah's Theme - Once Upon a Time in America - Ennio Morricone Thanks to The Maestro for all the emotions playing toghether all around the World since 20 years so far.
It is really unbelievable, that this masterpiece from Sergio Leone (for me his greatest movie!) didn´t even receive one single nomination for an academy award at all! Not even for best soundtrack! This is one of the greatest Oscar fails in movie history..
They fucked up the theater cut for the american release. The studio wanted a linear story without the time jumps back and forth, so they edited an INCREDIBLY shitty version and released it in theaters. I believe the result was what caused the film to be so underrated for so long.
Agreed - according to wikipedia: "The film's music was disqualified from Oscar consideration for a technicality, as the studio accidentally omitted the composer's name from the opening credits when trimming its running time for the American release". I'd previously heard they had "forgotten" to submit the application, but this is just incredible.
When I heard such beautiful music, my soul couldn't help but shed countless tears. Thank you, Maestro Ennio Morricone. You have been my soul's shelter. Rest in peace in heaven. I will always love your music and respect you with whole my heart. 🙏❤
I was sad that no one mentioned Sergio Leone - The true visionary of this incredible film. The musical score was a union between two of the greatest creative minds in movie history who blessed us with this powerfully emotive and uniquely memorable work. This capture is exemplary of the intense communion - commitment & collaboration between all who made this film complete and commendable, and we have a lot to be grateful for. It is incredible - intense - intoxicating - and like no other. Sadly the world has lost two beautiful aesthetic visionaries but Sergio & Ennio's work will remain in our hearts forever 🙏
Do not be upset. There are forums about Sergio Leone and this movie so please allow this one to pour out on its main topic: the music theme of Deborah.
There’s something fake about American culture. They don’t seem to reward real masterpieces. The movie was too good for Hollywood, which sh!ts out mediocrity.
Beautiful lady makes me cry. What must it feel like to look in a mirror and see what she sees. Beauty, talent, and a gift to share with every human being who loves music. ❤
This lady playing is just magnificent she brings me into the movie an the story of which I just keep watching and humming that truly haunting melody thank you so much
One of Top ten films of all times, I don't know how much they underrate it in the US, but in the rest of the world Once upon a time in America is ranked for what it really is : a breathless masterpiece, at least among 10 best movies ever.
We live in a terrible world full of Anger Hate a life that is so fast we miss stuff. Take a moment in quiet to listen to this beautiful piece of music is good for the soul.
Through the illness that the whole world is going through right now it is wonderful just for a few minutes to go to a quiet place in your home remove your mask😷✝️✡️🙏 close your eyes and listen to you playing. That brief moment you take us some place in a land of calm , and when the music is over I am energized and with a smile on my face of content. Thankyou ever so much 🇺🇸😊 Cynthia Kerr in Twining Michigan United States of America
I can't understand that he's gone ... I've played with Maestro Morricone all over the world for 20 years. he will remain forever in my heart and in my memories.
The heartbreak, the regret, as "Noodles" thinks back on his youth and remembered the girl that he loved, and how that relationship fell apart. Those images, combined with this music, never fails to bring me to the brink of tears.
I made a comment yesterday but I just had to come back this lady playing this piece just gave me the the peace that I needed to say again thank you this music takes me into the movie an story that makes this one of my favorite movies? I have never watched this movie and I've never seen it advertised...at least not in Texas where I live. I would like to see it though...I have seen Once Upon A Time In The West which is quite a violent movie but the Maestro's music is gorgeous.
I play this piece often when I need a spiritual lift. It touches all my feelings, very deep inside my heart and mind. It is very healing. It makes me realize that everything is posible. And Love is the answer.
I saw the movie maybe 12 times, but when I listen deborah's theme, I cry everytime, and I am fgking old , man! I am 60 with adult kids! Humanity has a chance, I guess.

@@mdezii Pretty good, thanks for asking. Of course, it should read 78 yrs. old...I'm sure you know that, but couldn't resist commenting for whatever reason(s). I'll leave that up to you and your therapist to uncover your motivations....lol....
@@mdezii Well that's good to hear...lol...and look...with the kind of life I've led, and filled with fun and worldly adventure, to make it to 78 is mind boggling. Yet, here I am. To live to 178 is not appealing to me in the least. I've done what I've done...been where I've always wanted to be...etc. etc...now I'm ready anytime to move on...which we all do anyway, so best to be ready...righto cheerio?
Happiness is spending time with people... ...who make something very special out of a normal day! It's my favorite music We will see each other again......For special people who are waiting for me up there..... As long as I live, you live in me...... Absolutely beautiful.💕
Today´s my late father´s birthday .As I knew he´s dead I listened to this melody for hours. It´s just wonderful to listen to your version. With tears in my eyes, Josh
Just such an amazing song. Ennio Morricone has made the greatest movie scores of anyone I can think of. He and Sergio Leone were a brilliant team who were in complete sync with what they envisioned for each movie!
"There is a flower in my garden that blooms when I think of you, my little flower". When it blooms, rain comes, the rain erases all dirt from your beautiful wings. I love you with all my heart, my little flower and I think of you every day that goes by. every hour, every minute and every second❤
Inconsapevole del suo genio... Irraggiungibile per nessun altro. Ammiro la sua musica... Come le pause sono la stessa indecifrabile musica. Grazie Ennio
I knew I loved you Before I knew you The hands of time Would lead me to you An evening star Was from afar It guided me here It knew you'd be here Now wrapped in moonlight At last together Here in the incandescent glow We are all we need to know As we softly please each other 'Til the stars and shadow glow And we sleep With our dreams around us Oooohhhh ahhh Ooohhhh oh yeahhh It guided me It knew you'd be here I knew I loved you Before I found you I knew I'd built my world around you Now all my days And all my nights And my tomorrows Will all begin And end With you... With you...
❣️❣️❣️❣️La colonna sonora più commovente e sublime che abbia mai udito ,una cascata impetuosa di emozioni ❣️❣️❣️❣️ Arrivano e ringraziano facendo scivolare sul viso il dolce salato di una lacrima
Ennio Morricone was not only a great musician but also a great soul. I remember one time I was at his conference. He was very sad, he had 5 Nominations but no Oscar at the end. The way he shows his contrariety was so honest and humble that I immediately thought 'this man will win this Oscar'. Usually I am not so much optimistic and sure, but that time I was. The fun fact was that I couldn't see Morricone face but only hearing his voice. There was too much crowd at this conference, and I was behind a pillar! Some time after this event Ennio won his first Oscar, then he won a second. Greetings from Genova, Italy 🇮🇹
Cera una volta in America….another hudge masterpiece by Sergio Leone. The reality of millions of immigrants at that time, all my respect to our grand father/mother who have to leave their country for a better Life for them and their descent. Grazie nono e nona and respect for all the sacrifices done just for us ❤️❤️
I love this music it has me thinking of when my brothers & sisters were alive and we were young the tears fall whenever I listen to this so beautiful. I also loved the film and how great the storyline was of how we were young without care then our bodies get old but our minds stay young. One should also feel lucky that we can hear this as some people do not have the gift of hearing so enjoy while you can. and if you love somebody go and tell them, do not keep it to yourself.enjoy
