John Wayne Loftus (born 1954) is an American atheist author.
He is a philosopher and Counter-Apologist who earned MA, MDiv, and ThM degrees, the last of which was under William Lane Craig. John also studied in a PhD program at Marquette University. He's the "Debunking Christianity" blog owner and author of five critically acclaimed books: "Why I Became An Atheist", "The Outsider Test for Faith", "How to Defend the Christian Faith", "Unapologetic", and "God or Godless" (with Randal Rauser). He's also the editor of seven critically acclaimed anthologies: "The Christian Delusion", "The End of Christianity", "Christianity is Not Great", "Christianity in the Light of Science", "The Case against Miracles", Varieties of Jesus Mythicism", and "God and Horrendous Suffering."
Musician:

Athiests are the opposite of being religious. Atheism is not a religion. Thiest does not equal athiest. Look in a dictionary. You embarrass yourself.

Ath eist, a non theist. What is this only christians? You do know most of the USA is christian or pretending to be christian. Those atheists of islam have to hide because they would not last very long. They are hated by both religions.

@@wfemp_4730 I would say that not all killing is murder. Murder is the unjustifiable killing of another person. Whereas some killing is legally justifiable, e.g. the execution of convicted murderers, or self-defense. Not sure where you're going with this, but I hope I've answered your Q.

@@wfemp_4730 1. If you watch "Collision," Hitchens certainly seems to have hated Christianity, and that's what Wilson was addressing. Are there atheists who DON'T hate God? I imagine. But it cannot be denied that they at least hate _the idea of_ God.

@@PanhandleFrank 1. Your original comment is painting atheists with an awfully wide brush, based on a quote from one person about one other person. Do you see a problem with that? 2. I reject your assertion that atheists hate the idea of a god. Atheists aren't compelled by theistic claims, so it does not follow that they must hate a particular theistic god.

This is terrible. The idea of trying to convince another to not believe in god. No self-respecting atheist should ever make a positive claim about something they have no evidence of. It's simply impossible to prove that something doesn't exist.

If you cite the bible and say that god does not exist is very valid. christians seem to think atheist means to think their god is already proven and atheists have to disprove it. No, they have to prove their assertions.
