A pharmacy tech. He was surprised that a silver-haired grandma was listening to Burning Spear, Eek-A-Mouse, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley and the Wailers, etc., in rural mountainous southwestern Virginia. The Minister did a great job (as did Trevor). The Minister had very clear messages (without any wiffle-waffling), stayed on point, and also supported his country and the entire Caribbean. I wish all Ministers (from whatever country) handled things so well and so clearly.

Great job Trevor. As someone born and raised in the Caribbean I can speak for many of us. You get much respect for what you did with Trinidad and giving them a voice to respond to the ridiculous statement by a ridiculous person.

@@candi1904 - You're right. However, not for the reason you think. To publicize anyone who had an adverse effect from the vaccine without their permission would be a gross violation of HIPPA. If they want to publicize their situation, they're perfectly free to do so.
He's not telling the whole truth as it relates to vaccinations in the work place. A contractor here who makes MILLIONS from state contracts INSISTED that ALL employees get vaccinated or else. The reason for this is because not having ALL employees vaccinated could hinder their chances of getting more contracts. And I know dozens here who were FIRED for not getting vaccinated.

And Trevor wasn’t exaggerating at all in that clip of him imitating his Trinidadian friends accent and way of speaking and when he joked about them not being able so say anything serious because of the accent. His imitation is perfect! Look up Trevor Noah Trinidad accent.

Over 6000 businesses SHUT down here since the beginning of 2021 & those who are still lucky to survive will do ANYTHING to ensure there's NO repeat of this lockdown measures. I have a friend that had a severe allergic reaction to the secong Pfizer vaccine. So I do not want this to undermine people who are having real reactions to this vaccine. My family and I have been vaccinated with no problem. Yet, we are aware of the reality that people are going through some health reactions.
I got 3 shots of the Moderna Vaccine and I'm totally fine. Also, yesterday I got the Flu vaccine. .....I feel awesome. Your friend that had a bad allergic reaction could very well be allergic to eggs. Or could be reacting to something else they consumed that day.
Yo Trevor, I appreciate that you took the time to not only address the misinformation and speak with Min of Health, but you also ensure that your audience learnt a lot more about the Culture. I live in the US now, but as a Trini I really thought this would hurt our image on the world stage, but after this segment, it may actually help more ppl learn about the country and hopefully help increase tourism and boost the economy post Covid.
How is this misinformation? So you actually believe everyone or anyone who has side effects after taking the vaccine, would be given a public ear. Really? Anyone who dies or has any effects, it would be recorded other wise.
Her cousin's friend may have very well lied, however, I don't think people are wrong for being cautious and having concerns about side effects, of any medication or vaccine. I am vaccinated bc I personally felt it was a greater risk to not be but that's me, everyone isn't the same or has the same health concerns.
Wonderful interview with Dr. Deyalsingh. My mom who lives in Trinidad, has always said that throughout this pandemic, Dr. Deyalsingh has been the most patient and gracious person, as he answered question after question almost nightly on the news and during updates. It was nice to hear him on my favourite late night show.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Unless you have such evidence, these claims can be dismissed without a quarter of a thought by anyone with more than 2 brain cells to rub together (maybe 0.04% of the American population at this point) . @@carmenjohnson1834 Anyone can submit a report to VAERS. So it should be easy to understand that VAERS data can not be used as proof of a vaccine having caused a problem. The purpose of VAERS is to act as a tool for faster detection of possible unusual or unexpected patterns of adverse events from vaccines.

Enough respect to Trevor and the Minister of Health. Something that got lost in all of this. Apart from what Minaj was saying about her cousin's friend is that people should gather as much facts about the vaccine as they can and then make up their minds about what will keep them safe and healthy in the long term. There are several instances in the past where black people have been experimented upon so there is a natural mistrust of the establishment. Persuasion and not coercian will most definitely overcome skepticism and hesitancy.
This perspective is exactly why I appreciate Trevor Noah. You have by far done the best job of putting this story into perspective and emphasizing what is important in all all of this.

I visited T & T & had a great time! I REALLY enjoyed staying in Black Rock. I do, however, prefer Tobago as it had a much slower pace that I enjoy. We actually only got 40% of the population partially vaccinated, full Vax is about 33% or so. I don’t think it’s right when we count individual doses and not persons fully vaccinated.
