My cousin that was closest in age to me got early onset Alzheimer's. She loved babies. Her children were all grown not all married and with children. She was going blind and they were looking for the cause, when they found it was caused by the Alzheimer's. I have pictures of her in the later stages, in the nursing home when her husband could no longer take care of her himself, holding her newest grandchild. I knew she didn't know who the baby was but her face just holding a baby with that smile from ear to ear said it all. I miss her. I used to sit for an elderly lady on Sundays in a nursing home. There was a lady there that was very mean and in a wheel chair. One of her grandchildren had brought her doll when she visited and she latched onto that baby. They got her one as it really helped her and she wasn't mean anymore. So I know dolls help. Didn't know about reborns then. My son did not sleep through the night until his pediatrician had me put rice cereal in a bottle of formula. I breast fed but I wasn't making enough milk for him. That one bottle of formula was all it took. My daughter was a lazy sucker. I made more than enough milk for her but I had to wake her up every 4 hours to make sure she fed or she would sleep through the night from the day I brought her home. It was slightly better than the every 2 hours I was up with my son and that was 2 hours from the last time he woke up not 2 hours after the feeding.
Early childhood teacher here. Play is a child's way of processing their world. So yes dolls are important, as is roleplay. My Son's Dad drove a semi truck. He had tow trucks to roleplay what Daddy did and to process where he was.

Hi Melissa! This was an interesting topic video. Even as a big fan of Paradise Galleries, I agree with you that this were all marketing! LOL And you're right, dolls aren't for everyone and that's okay. But for those who already like dolls, these are pretty good reasons to have them. I'm finding that I'm really loving the dolls that are realistic to a degree but less delicate lately. My life has changed so much in the past ten months, and I've become more of a cuddler of babies than ever. I love knowing I can cuddle them and I won't hurt them. Also love the ability to adjust their weight, ETC. or not as I like.
Do you know there is something to be said about your statement regarding the less realistic babies. I don’t cuddle with my art dolls/reborn dolls. Because I’m scared that I will ruin them. So I do like the occasional non-artist doll to cuddle with when I do go to bed and want to cuddle. Thank you for sharing! 🥰🥰🥰
I seriously think we should talk about this more. I realize my perspective is different; I can't physically look at my dolls because my eyes don't work... at all, and that's okay. I still find lots to appreciate in my artist dolls and love having them, and enjoy them in my own way. But I think something we often lose sight of as collectors of hyper-realistic reborn and silicone dolls is that to the average person, Paradise Galleries, Berenguer or similar dolls still appear very realistic. I brought a PG baby to work because a coworker was looking for realistic baby dolls she can share with her granddaughter in time, and she wanted to see one. I had the baby in a sling and hung it over the back of the chair at my work station. Twice during the day I walked briefly away from the baby, confident that everyone would know it was a doll and sure there would be no issues. Both times when I returned, it was to find that my doll had captured attention because someone had seen her and thought she was real. The first time, a coworker was holding her little hands and comforting her, even though she'd realized she was a doll by then. The second, about five people were gathered around because someone had been really alarmed. They all held her and we all got a good giggle out of it. But after that, I didn't go anywhere at all without taking her with me. LOL! That definitely shifted my perception of the realism of manufactured dolls! I've had similar things happen since. That might be a good educational topic video... just how do these dolls, reborn or manufactured, trick people's brains and trigger that immediate nurturing response?

I never mention my other interests in regarding to my spirituality because not everyone is at the same level of vibration. I have often thought that I had a job of record keeping in the afterlife…. Possibly the Akashic Records. I tend to write about everything and I have volumes of journals! All types of journals! Sometimes I feel very deep in meditation and I just write and write… sometimes it’s very deep the things I write. I feel like we are all splintered energies living on this plane, for now, and I often wonder if we are living multiple lives all simultaneously because I don’t believe time is linear in the afterlife. I have flashes of other lives…. Sometimes so vivid in dreaming. Girl, I could talk all day about this. I connect with my spirit guide and ancestors frequently. @@ItalianPrimaDonna yes, not many people consider the possibility of multiple lives happening simultaneously, like some kind of devine depersonalisation? I do think that reincarnation probably works more like that than a linear body to body type situation. So often I am reading books about quantum physics (hard to understand though 😖) Started studying the Qabalah about a year ago. I donate to nursing homes and mental health facilities the dolls have been a lot of help for people not every one is interested but others really benefit from them....that's why I'm not really welcomed in the doll community because all my dolls are replicas so I can get dolls for people who want or need them.
