All around RU-vid, creators - often selling excessively expensive courses - are claiming that illnesses like ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and Long Covid are JUST hypersensitive nervous system problems, i.e. conditions in which the only problem is dysautonomia/a maladaptive stress response and that there is NOTHING else going wrong physiologically in the rest of the body. In this video, I debunk this claim, drawing on the research into these conditions so as to share 20 evidenced-based findings about biomedical problems in the bodies of these patients, problems that are all characteristic of these kinds of illnesses. Patients with these illnesses deserve access to accurate information about their condition and this video aims to change the narrative.
My name is Patrick Ussher and I am an ME/CFS patient. I have written a book on POTS and also one about thirst in ME/CFS, POTS and Long Covid.
