Nice shooting. Glad to see someone pushing the RFB at range rather that just blasting at 50-100

This was the video that made me buy this gun and I am not disappointed. It's stupid small for a .308 and can hit things from 500+ yds. what a brilliant piece of work from Kel Tec for only about $1500 most places.

Hey, fellow RFB owner from Canuckistan here. My philosophy of use for this rifle is a DMR with a CQB personal defense weapon capability. I've shot mine quite a bit at various distances from 50 to 600 yds. So far, I am using 168gr Federal GMM, as I found it to be the most precise factory ammo that I had readily available. The scope is Kahles K16i 1-6x. The rifle has some quirks: - Mean cold bore zero shift (4-5" vertical difference at 600 yds between a cold bore shot and the subsequent shot). Since it is fairly predictable, my solution is having two different dope charts. - If you are doing a high volume of fire in the heat of summer, there will be a noticeable vertical stringing trend in the upward direction (not a huge factor if you are shooting within 200 yds, but beyond that you will eventually need to hold low). - This stringing is reversed in cold winter weather. If you continue shooting long enough when the temperature is around freezing or below, your impacts will be creeping downward. - Constant failures to go into battery below 50F if you are using grease in the channel where the bolt carrier slides. Switching to light oil there solves the problem. I suspect the first three problems are either due to either a lack of stress relief on the barrel after manufacture, or some weird tensions forming due to differential heat expansion in parts around the barrel (i.e. scope rail, ejection chute). Other than that, it's a fine gun.

Good data there partner. Mine seems to like the Hornady 178gr Superformence the best. My best test of this gun is represented in this January's Winter Run-N-Gun in Oklahoma (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-46bqeDuIkEw.html). I put it through the tests on several stages of fire ranging from up close at 5-10yds (or so) out to 500yds. I will be running the RFB again next month at the 10K Run-N-Gun at Rockcastle Shooting Center in KY (facebook.com/events/1694526563922793/?active_tab=about). I will post AAR the following week.

I was connecting with a 12" plate at 600 yards using surplus M80. Might have had more hits on target had a zeroed with and been using M118LR but I don't have much of that so it's like gold to me. Kel-Tec did a great job with this rifle.

I have an RDB that I was shocked to see how well it shot, so I was on here looking to see if anyone else was so lucky. Then I came across your video. Now I have to add the RFB to my list to purchase. Smh. Thanks a lot!

I would expect considerably improved results with the RFB Hunter model with a 24" barrel. 600 yards is a long way to shoot with the 18" barrel. The 24" barrel would have improved Feet Per Second at the muzzle by 200 fps, maybe more.

Nice shooting...7.5 lb stock trigger, no malfunctions and mostly hits...The wind at 600 yards buffets bullets all over the place. With that scope on a bull pup, very good job. Recheck your zero...ACOG’s are finicky. I only hope I can get my new RFB to shoot as reliably!

3 misses at 6 hundred with an rfb, is a helluva lot better than I give these things credit for, and I own one. Mind you, I have a total of 18 rounds thru it since I bought it in 2015 (knock'n on 2021 now) and 10 of those 18 rnds were letting other people try the rfb out. Vids like this are what keeps a guy humble and hopeful... Damn good shooting brah!!

Pretty impressive considering the power and size of this weapon. At 600 yards you are probably still above 1500fps and can expect probably 16" of penetration or more. Then put it in a violin case and walk away lol

I'm not going to watch it again, but that looked like 17 or so out of 20. your spotter was wrong on several that were actually hits. That is pretty damned impressive for a semi-auto factory gun. Better than a Dragunov at the same range. Quite a bit better.

Stop squirming around after every shot. That is the WORST habbit a long range shooter can have. Find target, lock in, do same thing every time. I would have smacked you in the back of the head after every shot if I was your line coach. If you stopped moving the fuck around that same group would have been a fist. 600 yards is childsplay for 308.

When you say 30 clicks is that tighten or loosened??? I understood the higher the grain the more open you get it. I plan on eventually shooting at a 600 with mine but there arent that many spots i can get to, I am in DE

For that ammo (Hornady 178gr Superformance) it is opening the gas setting pretty much all the way up. It is more about the load behind the bullet (they are pretty hot loads) than the bullet weight. I was experiencing blown primers with the gas setting on a more closed setting.

Sorry ! I have the 18 inch rfb and I shoot 165 and 168 grain through it! It cycles good 308 brass well. Only gripe I have is that it will not fail to lock back using high pressure ammo. With gas setting at full in or full out it still cycles my guess it's a little over gassed but kel tec said it would take hurt it . I run my gas setting almost completely screwed out .bottom line cheap steel ammo doesn't work reliable!

@RunNGunNation

I’ve run several Run N Gun competitions with it and it has been very reliable. Here is the link to the most recent. (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-37jBFf6bAfA.html) there are several other videos with the RFB (any many of my other rifles) over the last few years in the RNG playlist.

I've had mine for 3 years or so. Initially I had some feeding issues but I was experimenting with different greases and dry lubes (moly spray and powdered graphite). I switched to a oil lube and it hasn't missed a tick yet. Adjust your gas regulator, I use only metal FAL magazines but find magazines that feed reliably in your rifle, and keep it wet and it will serve you well. I recently went to a range and connected with a 12" steel plate at 600 yards, used this same rifle in a 2 gun match and didn't skip a beat.

carry a 308 for run n gun? wow. I've considered carrying my SA saint but the gun weight = my AR. It's the ammno load that is the biggest factor for carried weight.
