Yes, I wonder what she thinks of the success that Beyonce & Taylor Swift have now whose careers went into orbits in ways she never was able to do. I live in Canada and when I mention her name folks look at me as if to say "Who?" They never played any Hard Core R & B Music on The Radio and to this day they still don't.

Child prodigy singer. Love Stacy Lattisaw Narada Michael Walden knew exactly how to produce her sound. I still have her record albums from her years at Cotillion Records / Atlantic Records and her last albums with Motown Records. I'm gonna play her albums tomorrow which is Saturday and call it Saturdays With Stacy Lattisaw.

GO HOWARD U!! I'm so happy the community is giving Stacy her shine!! When I hear songs from her classic 1981--1983 era, my eyes well-up with tears, also. Many family members and friends are no longer alive. But, during that time....everyone was present, during the old old school era of New York City. AHHH, I miss it.😞

Chile, “Where Do We Go From Here”? was like church! I love you and I ‘ve been praying your protection since that certain video, a dance video, in the late 80s. I don’t remember the song, but I REMEMBER WHO WAS IN IT!! Your voice is truly a gift. Thanks for this post🌹🌷💐💯

Cool thing about Stacy was that when she was popular, little black girls didn't have to try to be like her because she was like them. No Hollywood. No special marketing. She dressed like girls her age and seemed to be a normal girl.

Loved Stacy Lattisaw and the Duet she recorded with Dynamic Vocalist Johnny Gill, the song PERFECT COMBINATION was so lovely and SUNG with PURE PERFECTION😊💥💯💯, BABY IT'S YOU, was another Duet they recorded together was absolutely beautiful, and yes Johnny Gill was extremely Blessed to have such a Powerful Baritone as a teenager, OH MY GOD, he deserved much more success in the early 80s than he received😊, however it did come to him in the late 80s early 90s and again his Longevity was much too short in music for such a POWERHOUSE VOCALIST😊.

If we were to do a list of the greatest child singers of all time, she would be second to Michael Jackson. She had so much magic, power, purity and natural soul in her voice and it had angelic energy. She sung with perfect pitch! She truly was a rare gem and although I think no child should be in that demonic industry, she has laid a legacy that's she should be proud of. Glad to see you looking good and being true to yourself and God almighty!

Thanks so much for sharing this and nostalgic indeed. The Capital Center Jacksons w/ Stacy Lattisaw has been a long lasting memory of mine. I was and still a fan from my early teens and now in my late 50's - still a huge fan and my wife and kids know it without a doubt. Have all the albums and even have a poem i wrote called "The Best Singer in the World is Stacy Lattisaw (and She's a Girl)"...ha ha (that was a poem written when I was 13). Seeing this clip reminded me of blasting your music from the basement pretending i was in concert when i was young with my parents repeatedly asking me to turn down the music - and the time in my teens when you performed at Carter Barron and i didnt have a ticket - so since i lived on 16th street - i rode my bike and listened to your performance from the outside of the Ampitheater.....and my eagerness to get to Kemp Mill records on album release day to get the album hot off the press. Wow the memories - but never giving up on getting that Stacy Lattisaw autograph... :) Again - thx for sharing and looking forward part2, part 3, etc.

When I mention her, folks look at me like I'm crazy. I live in Canada and they never played any hard core r & b. As far as I'm concerned, she kicked the door open for every single African American Young Singing Star. Brandy, Monica, Shanice, and Beyonce owe a major debt to her. Her mother was in a singing group with Marvin Gaye (1939-1984), in High School but they didn't make it. It's amazing, White Child Stars get "Cheated" and folks feel sorry for them, but when it happens to a Black Child, big deal.

The Chosen Few Child Stars did okay. Ron Howard, Kurt Russell, Stevie Wonder, Paul Anka. I wished she could have talked to Paul Petersen who did it all back in the day. He was one of the original mouseketeers on the mickey mouse club, then he briefly became a pop star, worked at motown and he created A Minor Consideration where past child stars counsel the current crop of how to deal with their fame. There was a Documentary on TV several years ago and Melissa Gilbert, her Sister Sarah, and Kim Fields talked about what it was like growing up. The manipulative ways of getting a scene right, Kim being told she was a sellout because her best friends were white girls and how many black kids go to boarding school. She was lucky, she did't end up like Frankie Lymon, or an addic or homeless like bobby brown was at one time. God truly protected her. Forgime me, but her mother was like a stage mother, wanting to live her showbusiness dreams vicariously through her daughter kind of like Cissy Houston.

She should go to The UK and talk to the children there. If you can, check out The Big Reunion where pop acts from the late 1990's to early 2000's talk about what their lives were like after the Fame ended. Some did well, others became addicts, homeless, bipolarism, etc.

Dear Stacy. May I please share with you how your music touched my life. May I share with you how I wanted to be you in so many ways. I wanted puffed sleeve blouses with the plaid design. I wanted jeans with a belt. I loved your look, hair, face, and your overall persona . As you became more adult like I still followed your career and videos. May God continue to bless you and your family. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world. I went to see Johnny Gill perform on Valentines Day of this year. He was amazing. I am a huge fan of his. I made a poster for him and encased it in a picture frame. Security would not allow me to give it to him. I wrote I love you Boogie in several glittery letters. Maybe I will reach out on Instagram. Thank you for sharing. Love Jeanette.
