Thanks Tim I was having trouble getting my stove to light, and your video gave me some great advice. I now have a very effective and reliable decagon stove.
Be careful not to fill the stove too much. I have the newer version with the larger centre hole. I found that the fuel seemed to expand and start to overflow from the stove.
I realize that there are two models of this stove. One has a small hole in the middle and one has a big center hole. Which one works better, or what's the difference ? I understand that some people are making the burn holes larger . Would this make it burn any hotter?
I tried this with rubbing alcohol (70% isopropyl alcohol), rather than denatured alcohol. It didn't work very well at all. It kept going out. I eventually got it going but it only got the water to 190.
