Mr. G Shekar, this was a very well put together lecture, simple and to the point. Would look forward to more updates on this hot topic. Thank you for creating this video

Thank you so much sir, for such a comprehensive analysis of the topic. Sir what is the regulation for Ships which are not able to achieve the above said Corrective Efficiency Plan? Do they need to be scrapped?

The increased cost of design modifications, fuel sulphur content limitations etc should directly be billed on the owners account of the cargo.

Hydrogen fuel cell the best technology for clean propulsion.

Ammonia is better. It will be mature before

@@martinmaupas4380 Well even ammonia based fuel cell is not bad Idea it's more efficient than IC engine's.

@@saurabhkatarey6818 sure. Hydrogen is too difficult to store and bunker installations are not existing yet. Ammonia is a short term solution

@@martinmaupas4380 That's the reason why industry is planning to store Hydrogen in the form of Ammonia or metal Hydride. Based on the demand Ammonia can be cracked or metal hydride can be reacted to produce hydrogen required for FC or IC.

@@martinmaupas4380 hydrogen is highly combustible gas, remember the Hindenburg disaster, and during 60s a Soviet submarine blew up underwater in Pacific Ocean, due to build up excessive hydrogen gas in the battery pit

Take out seafarers (fixed cost, including fleet personal dept), and the economical speed drops down to half too. 100 t/day becomes 10/day, the same voyage being complete with 20% fuel consumption. Emgine power requirements drop from 27000KW to 30KW High speed (6000) Otto cycle 15Kw X3 deck mounted power packs running on LNG/LPG cut down NOx too. Or 15Kw X2 Azipods will work wonders to operating costs too. Containerised power packs eliminate the engine room, and greatly, enormously simplify the entire propulsion SYSTEM. Hence reliability is boosted and engine crew can be reduced to say one person. Same for deck, vessel will be watched from shore through remote control, including mobile robitic cameras, in addition to fixed cameras. The biggest Greek ship owner says, to meet 2050 targets, entire 65000 fleet have to be scrapped and also all buildings from 2030 must conform with 2050 standards. Since the bunker requirements are greatly reduced LNG/LPG can be bunkered in double walled vacuum insulated tanks, mounted in containers and hence bunkering infrastructure problem also is eliminated. Ultimate destination is Hydrogen Fuel cells, even though it may not be the best for the world, Methane fuel cells are. Why world will go hydrogen is technology colonisation. Etc etc etc I am only seeding your minds. Just think about it, develop it further as your minds pan. And wake up. 🌹🌹😍

Only one expect is showing here, how about maintenance cost the crew is doing, u need shore persons for berthing and unberthing and currently even the 1st world countries do not have that kind kind of technology for berthing via magnets or similar purpose, talking about remote access, in overcast sky we usually broke signals only sat c worked and even high latitudes it wont work , gyro doesnt work on high latitudes, radar issues, what about high density traffic areas cameras are not enough sea water will accumulate on it, any equipment machinery malfunction etc how to tackle it on mid sea And there are lot more challenges that need to be encounter U r saving money on one side, what about solas it need to be changed totally, if anythng happens midsea cost of refuge, change the face of ports all over the world, additional tugs etc reqrmnt at every port, additional insurance cost, planned maintenance timings to be reduced may be to 1/4th, owner or charterer has to send additional persons at every port for cargo calculations, dispute, damages etc, I can keep writing more and more, person who thinks it is an easy task never sailed It may be possible but not in near future or from 2030 definately no, may be after 30-40 yrs it may be possible but for now i guess NO

I am reading these kind of blogs from last 7-8 yrs previously they were saying from 2020 onwards then 2025 and now 2030, but all are shore personnel who never sees a ship, who never sailed onboard in high seas, they are just talking theorotically

I am talking about unmanned ships, yes the fuel can be changed , as it has already changed over to low sulphur in 2020 sulphur cap so this is possible but for unmanned ships its too early
