Even as a German I'd say that Mayer was nearly unbeatable the last several years and can only beat himself. Kauls performance was Amazing! No Doubt! But it was still way behind Mayer's World Record.

@@adamd2325 I think after the 2021 Olympics Kaul will have a great future! And has a good chance of breaking the world record and winning multiple championships ...But I'm sure Mayer will win the Olympics! And will recieve all glory yet to earn. And Kaul will later end his reign. But in my opinion Mayer will always be THE most consistent decathlete of all times, in his 2018 WR performance he hasn't shown any weakness in any discipline! And dominated the field! Kaul may beat the score anytime soon, but never this consistency of Mayer! 👍
