If you've ever played Dark Souls, you'll know this statement has very little merit to it. Dark Souls is fair in its difficulty and has very clear patterns that, when learned, make the game dramatically easier. Having to pop every single stim in the game in hopes of tanking a boss with unfair mechanics isn't Dark Souls difficulty, it's more akin to Elden Ring difficulty with bosses like Malenia. It's fair to have a potentially tanky boss with exploitable attack patterns. It's unfair to have a boss that can leap at you from halfway across the map, dealing huge damage, and aggroing every enemy in her vicinity. Thats not good boss design. Thats lazy boss design. Crafting a hard boss takes time and care. Crafting a stupid boss takes no effort.

@@yourfavoritezoomer9104 Ngl comparing malenia to sq is like comparing a dog to an ant. You can kill SQ with just a maria and an I4S, berserker is also not needed. If you want an easier way just craft a KSG and magdump that hammer woman with atleast 9 shells to the head. Theres also a counter to her shotshell ability which you can shove to avoid it, unlike malenia where her waterfowl dance activates in close range is basically death unless you have a shield that she gains health back or BHS equipped also infinitely gains poise in certain animations which makes it hard to stagger unless you got lucky to do a bleed proc or something.
