I heard Maggot Brain and America Eats Its Young albums in '72 (Loose Booty) and was hooked. Get Up for the Downstroke was the 1st PFunk single I bought with papergirl money.
What a treat to hear to hear this stripped down style. A Joyful Process was funky as all hell I didn't know it could get any fuknkier than the original and Fly Away very elegant, loved it. Thank you.
Hey Danny, thank you for all you do in keeping the funk alive! I especially appreciate that you highlight the true essence of the music. The P-Funk cannon is so vast and encompassing but you took the time to research it down to the nooks and crannies to let us know who did what on all of their stuff. The idea of that was mind-boggling and the execution even more so. I love the book and keep it nearby as I revisit the funk on a daily basis now. This performance was something like I had dreamt of for many years. I wanted to see it with many of the fallen soldiers. You guys pulled it off beautifully and did all P-Funkers proud! You are as great a Funkadelic as anyone that has ever been in the band as a musician and now as a documentarian! Once again, THANK YOU! 🤘🤘🎹🔥🔥
Y'all should do a tour doing these songs. Awesome job and idea!!! There's a lot of songs that I would love to hear that I never heard done by P-Funk live. Love it!!! And do a CD of it. It'll be a hit with the fans for sure!
