If you loved this video, you will LOVE my channel. Tons of videos like this on my channel. What it was like on The FINAL day of 1999 Welcome to the START of the year 2000! Welcome to the START of the new millennium!
Gilbert, I can't thank you enough for posting this video! December 31, 1999 was the first New Years Eve that I remember, and I was only 4 years old. I honestly wish I was old enough to appreciate the new millennium, but I'm very grateful that you captured the last day of 1999 and the first day of 2000! I really wish that we could go back to that time because it felt like the peak of humanity! Anyways, thanks so much for video recording into the new millennium and posting it to RU-vid! Keep being awesome man! :)
@@fueledbymusic3Gil, this video is so nostalgic that it makes me wish I was born in 1990 to see this at age 9 ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 Your videos inspire me to get vintage camcorders and film ❤❤❤
Even before 2001 the e commerce boom had ended March 2000, then we had the murder of Sarah Payne, Concorde crash, then the 2000 election scandal. The intafada in Israel started in 2000, people knew who Osama Bin Laden was, uss cole bombing,Columbine had happened. So even summer 2001 things were hardly innocent. Then we had 9/11 and everything that happened in between then and now. Then 2020 happened. So life after 2000 was different to that before.
Hey Arci I've been watching your videos and I wanted to thank you for recording everybody's favorite decades!!! My head is still stuck in the 80s and 90s.
Really enjoyed your uploads, amazing to see social life detailed in a way that was so ahead of its time, decades of video footage of yesteryear's. Thank you for sharing this .
Happy New Year Gilby! I'm wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year ahead of time because I work tonight. You're one of the BEST friends I've made on RU-vid and I wholly appreciate your videos and vlogs. Thank you for inviting us into your awesome, bad, radical, cool, time capsule! Love you Gilby, goodbye 2010s, welcome 2020s! 💙
I love these type of videos, this is the type of stuff I sometimes upload on my channel, I personally love these type of videos because it reminds me that if I ever have kids, they will come and ask me in about 10 years time “dad what was life like in the 2000s and the 2010s” and I would show them my RU-vid channel, keep up the good work mate, I’m a new subscriber
That's so awesome, I wish I was alive to see it. Thanks for uploading this, I can get a glimpse of what life was like almost a decade before I was born.
@@UDubFootballFan felt like the end of an era. The 90s were the best times of my life. Feels like the world went shit when the internet went huge around 07-08 and we’ve never recovered
@@dacoolmilkshake4917 well u was like 4-5 years old so u had NO life experiense so u cant say it was good since all u did was watching spongebob an wetting urself
I remember this day so well. Many thought total chaos would happen. The whole Y2K was a big scare. Even best buy had warnings to turn off your computer before midnight on 12-31-1999. Happy new year Gil!
Well done bro Different channel but I like it Always good footage and even tho they are strangers to me I still very much enjoy them Reminds me of the good old days in London
Lol this shit makes me happy, I thoroughly enjoyed this video. From your giggling to fucken Heckler sleeping from food coma and the rapid fire outside (not fireworks) 😂😂 👍
Man, I remember like it was yesterday when the new century started, and everyone was scared for Y2K.. Brings back memories to see how funny it was for people to complain about something that never occurred...
Your channel is very beautiful and strange. I wish I had grown up with you. I came this year and I wish I had not created it. Greetings from Saudi Arabia.
I remembered that day. It was both exciting and scary at the same time. Should the world perish or would we go into an exciting new age. I remember it like yesterday.
I wish more people would have recorded/vlogged their 1999/2000 experience! What was your experience like? What were the scary parts? I was born in 94 so i was only 5 so my memories about it are kinda blurry/foggy. 😅
I remember new year’s on 2018 when 2019 was there I brought some fireworks 5 artillery shells and some more I brought 20 I set them off one of the time and it was loud I brought my dj equipment and lights outside and partied all my friends came over and they were dancing the party ended in 1130 pm at night like there was a chaos party I was shooting a lot of fog and lights
I think it's interesting to see that particular new year's eve since I can never experience something like that for a very long time. It would be another 9 months after this video was filmed thatl I would be born.
Everyone was freaking about the Y2K thing on this day including me. 😂😂😂 Never forget! Seemed like yesterday. Fast forward 20 years and there's the coronavirus a thing to really freak out about.
Everyone including myself (as a kid back then in the late 1990s) was freaking out about the Y2K bug that is going to end the world as the millennium starts, but unfortunately, that did not happen. When the year 2000 hits, everything that was still intact and still the exactly the same. From 1900 all the way up to 1999 was the 20th century. The tragedies, the wars, the slavery, good times, bad times, movies, music, TV shows, videogames (from the '70s up to the present day), and everything else that all of us been through. It was a tough and fun time in that decade. Now the millennium started in the year 2000, and we are still here after over 20 years later. We are still going strong with this coronavirus incident, and the dystopian era (I wish it would end soon.) Our only hope that we can still have the power to overcome this situation. And I respect the police and all to save us from criminals, but this dystopian thing is getting worse at any moment.
Dude it was such a big accomplishment when it hit 2000.. only because it hit the 2000th year. It went by.. That’s insane. 1 year, it’s a big deal.. but not too big. 5 years, that’s a quite a big accomplishment.. 10 years, that’s something to celebrate about... 50 years... that’s insane. 100 years.. people will go crazy, But a whole 1000? why didn’t people go crazy about this?
