In this video I'm introducing a new series I want to try. My idea is to share what I'm working on each week in a way that celebrates being a work in progress. "From Where I Make Stuff" is basically me sharing what's on my table. Sharing projects I'm working on. Making progress not perfection. These won't be perfect start to finish process videos. More just talking about and sharing what I'm working on. Maybe some unboxing / organization videos. At least that's my idea right now.
My goal is to film this most Fridays...thus..."From Where I Make Stuff Fridays" is now officially launched! (It only took me until the next Wednesday to get it finished..but hey, I'm a work in progress!) I'll hopefully get faster at editing and get them launched sooner.
I'm thinking of these as a "not so live" livestream. I'll just share what's in progress, answer any questions, share plans, etc. It's making me excited to think about it!
In Episode 1 I share how after moving my December Daily® albums off the bookshelves, I noticed them on the table and decided to do a walk through, looking back at the state of things. And yes...many many years are unfinished works in progress. Foundation pages just waiting for me to add photos and words.
I share how we can "Make Our Own Kind of Magic" by making different kinds of albums, minibooks, journals, and/or photobooks. There is not right or wrong way to make these projects. Just making what brings us joy is the goal.
One theme I hope to bring to light is that whatever we capture, whatever we can create is great and worthy of celebrating. Live our stories first. Embrace the season we are in. It reminds me of the Bob Dylan quote, "If you want to keep your memories, you first have to live them."
All of these projects have my heart, even the unfinished ones.
And yes, I would eventually like to make progress on these. Which is exactly why I'm sharing! I loved loved loved looking back and these and am excited to start making plans to make more progress on these albums.
Thank you for joining me! I hope this is a fun look back. Welcome to my journey of making stuff!
(tip: past album walk-throughs start around the 4 to 5 minute mark if you want to skip the intro)
