I can't believe it's the last notebook challenge of the year! How did it go for you? Are you going to participate in 2020?? Let me know in the comments!
I will continue to participate in 2020! I love it! I have a journal which I just journal in and another notebook that I am using for my Jewish studies since that is a big part of my life.
I finished 4 notebooks this year. But I have one more that I’m working on finishing now for December. Not nearly enough but I did get to clean out my drawers a little bit.
I plan to participate in 2020. Just bought a bunch of notebooks. Where do you find time to write in all these notebooks? I'm not sure I'll have time to fill all mine up LOL
My word for 2019 was: Focus. I got A LOT completed throughout the year and I wouldn't have been able to without focus and discipline & quarterly goals! My word for 2020 is Perspective. While 2019 was great in accomplishing a lot with writing, I fell into the trap of self doubt and comparison. It hit me hard in August and I had to take a step back. I had to look back at where I was last year and how far I've come this year. So, with that said, I want Perspective to be my word for 2020 to often remind me of how far I've come, and though I'm not where I want to be just yet, there's still so much to be proud of!
My word for 2020 will be Focus, hehe. I didn't have a word last year but it should have been Goals. Because setting them and being methodical with projects and tasks (yay for the HB90 planner!) really helped me. I hear you on the comparisonitis, such a killer for momentum and creativity. I love your word for next year, keeping things in perspective is so important but also so easy to lose.
I’m so glad to have found kindred spirits who love and buy notebook and pens! That Erin Condren gold cover is gorgeous! It would pair perfectly with a gold diamond-topped pen! 😍
I have really enjoyed this challenge and I am definitely doing it again next year! Because I have a monthly sticker subscription, I’ve completed one every month and each one has its own theme and color. It seemed a daunting task at first, but now it’s just what I do. Thanks so much Sarra! I didn’t even realize how enriched my life would become by doing this.
It's amazing how fast this year has went by. I have learned so much for watching your videos and am so grateful for the content that you have on your channel. Please keep up the awesome work because I am addicted. You are a big inspiration to me, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I just found this channel about a month ago & have been binge watching the videos every day. I'm addicted to organising & these videos make me feel like I'm not alone. I'm excited that the new year is right around the corner & you have given me soo many tips for planners, thank you.
I absolutely adore how passionate you are! Not just with writing, but with absolutely everything! I’ve only recently started journaling, so I’ve never had a word before, but watching you, I have decided that my 2020 word is going to be: Passionate. Thank you 🥰 x
Staying focused and somewhat organized is always my goal. I have big plans for 2020 with starting my own Imprint, writing and being a working mom, planning has really saved me and is a part of my 2020 goals.
That cover is gorgeous! I'm still in the process of working out my goals for next year, and will also make an effort to come up with a word of the year. That word may end up being "brave", because I've decided to be voluntarily unemployed for a while, because I am so burned out by corporate America, and want to get back to my love of acting and working in the entertainment industry. Watching your videos has been so helpful and inspiring, especially seeing someone who is a creator and it making a successful living at it. So often, we are told about how hard it is to make a living being an artist, and people can be so discouraging. It's so refreshing seeing someone make a living doing something they love. Thank you!
You have been such an inspiration this past year. My year has been such a roller coaster, but each of your videos give me what I need to keep enjoying the ride.
I am only one month in since I purchased my first journal...then my second...then my third. I can already see the need for a notebook challenge. The Erin Condren is GORGEOUS! In particular, the space for notes is appealing. Your generosity is terrific.
This has really been a productive challenge for me... I actually used this grogeous Vera Bradley notebook Ive been hoarding for YEARS and now I use it as COMPLETED decor on my desk.. sooooo satisfying
I can not believe the year is almost over. I have throughly enjoyed working through my multitude of stationary and planners this year. Looking forward to next years challenge.
Your hair looked amazing in this video, so straight and sleek!!! Sounds like you've got some good plans to finish of the year in style. I think I'm just looking to next year to restart after this year having been so monumentally horrible. Can't wait to see what notebooks you use fresh next year.
I love seeing how you use all your notebooks. I always struggle to start them because they're so pretty and then I forget to finish them. I'm so overwhelmed by my half filled notebooks that I'm thinking about getting rid of them and starting new, but I don't want to miss out on the thrill of finishing them...
I'm a huge fan of the Deluxe Monthly Planner from Erin Condren. I love all your planning videos and I have Incorporated the konbon board for keeping my goals on target. And I have started to highlight milestones for my writing and job within my planner. I'm on board for the notebook challenge for 2020! I'm all in! Blessings on you and your family. Your channel got me writing again and seeing how I can plan in my writing but that if I miss a week or a day to pick it back up and Keep Going! Love your information and inspiration!!! Thank you! I love the idea of a word for the year... Sold! I'm doing that for 2020 for sure!
I wish I had found you soooo much sooner!! My book collection is absolute treasure to me, whether empty or full. Isn't it funny how a book with blank pages can bring so much joy! You have inspired me so! Thank you so sharing!
Congratulations on getting through the year, especially with the addition of your lovely daughter. Thanks for the encouragement to do this--I didn't even shoot for the one/month goal, but just to actually USE the journals and notebooks I already own instead of buying more. And I accomplished that. 👏👏👏
That monthly deluxe cover on the giveaway planner is sooooooooo pretty! Congrats on completing as many notebook pages as you have! I admire your dedication to keep going and actively not making it a punitive experience! Happy holidays!
Omg I had watched ur original video (three times lol) where u talked about doing this notebook challenge last year & I’m so proud of u for making it the full year!! you’ve inspired the heck out of me girl!! ♥️
I think my "word" of the year will likely be a phrase. Right now I'm leaning towards "level up". I LOVE your videos! You've motivated me to write my first book 😊
I love the fact that, we all have a passion for notebook! It's been a struggle completing all my notebook and trying to resist buying new ones. That EC book is beautiful. Thank for all your great videos.
YAY VBAC! This year has been so a mess with just life throwing things at me but watching your channel has helped me move forward with my goals even with everything going on. I think my word for next year will be emerge. I have been waiting for the right time for too long. It is time for me to move forward with my dreams. Thank you for being an inspiration.
Gorgeous planner! I have so many notebooks but always have room for more. Thank you for your notebook challenge, it has inspired me to use up more of mine. x
Hey! The planner looks really cool. I’ve never used an organized planner before. That’s so nice of you to do giveaways like this, and you’ve really motivated me to use my notebooks more often. A lot of times I forget about my notebook. Thank you for your videos!
Thanks for sharing your love of journals, plus your knowledge and motivation to writers. Your videos are appreciated by many of us. Journals are such a great tool for creativity and the foundation for something amazing.
I have loved this years notebook challenge! So happy you will keep it up next year. My word this year was : Enough. I'm not sure for 2020 yet. Thank you very much for all your uploads in 2019, can't wait for what will be coming up...
I came along to the challenge late, I discovered the journaling/planner/writing community on YT while getting cancer treatment. Oh what fun since then! I discovered so many ways to use my notebooks, stationary, and even planners (& how to repurpose.) Long story short, I look forward to participating in the notebook and pen challenge next year as well as getting back into writing. What the hay, I'm still young enough to write. Oh, and the word I used thru my cancer treatment is ENDURE. I'm going to use it next year too. I may even make it into a motto in Latin. Best of the holidays and new year to everyone! Onward to 2020... I can see clearly now. 😉
I just want to let you know, you do inspire so many people and we appreciate your time away from your family and career to dedicate to helping others find their way in planning and in writing. Thanks to you and your videos, I am doing both. I keep my planners and I am back to writing after 10 years of not writing. Matter of fact, thanks to you posting about Nano, I participated this year and crushed it with 61,000 words wrote in November. And, since I'm part of your HB Sprint Challenge group as well, and I try to be pretty active in that group, I wrote "the end" on my first completed novel, ever. :) All thanks to you and your videos and guidance.
While listening to you trying to decide on what word to use as a focus for next year, I thought maybe "Acceptance" might be one for you to consider. Acceptance is something that you choose rather than "surrender" which seems more like something that you've been forced into. In any case, I am enjoying your videos and can't wait to see what the new year brings!
You have inspired me to start using up my notebooks and getting a planner. I have started writing again as well. So far it is helping me be more organized and inspired in my writing. Thank you so much!
I love this notebook, and I have been looking for a new planner for the coming year. I am trying to get back into writing. My life had taking a major change. Thank you for these wonderful challenges Sarra!
Wow! I just discovered you and have found my people! I always feel guilty for having so many different notebooks/planners but they really give me a lot of joy! So excited to add you to my subscriptions!
I love the planner and your notebook ideas! I was one of those kids who loved getting a fresh haul of school supplies every year, so now I'm a fiend for new notebooks, planner supplies, pens, all the things! I'm currently in the process of creating my own planning system for 2020, and I've been inspired by your videos. Thank you!
The EC planner cover looks so beautiful! 😊 Also, only some pages left in the notebook that I'm using for the challenge that I had predicted will take me until the end of the year. 😁
I would love to know how you go about choosing a word for the year. I typically choose a word or phrase, but I would love to see how others choose their word, the process would be great to see. Thanks, Sarra!
For 2020, my word came to me and I have not been able to “shake it” to even consider another one. For 2017-2019, at a special service late in December, my spiritual center has every participant draw a stone out of a bag that has a spiritual truth on it or some other spiritual meaning. This becomes tour word for the year. In 2018, my word was strength. That turned out to be a year I needed strength from others as well as I found some of my own strength I had forgotten about. I love the universe picking my word for me as well as the universe placing in my conscience the word that I need.
I love that planner! So pretty! I'm committed to get back into using planners. I fell out of the habit and became less productive. I'm happy I found your channel. I'm using your Kanban board method and that has been huge for me in increasing my productivity.
That planner notebook is beautiful!!! Since viewing you very first video about the note book challenge I have been really good about using my notebooks and pens! Cool that your doing the pen challenge!!
my boyfriend LOVES bleach. Amazing soundtrack, too. When you get through it, you should read the manga. Has even more fun stuff in it :) Notebook filling this year went well. I think I may be in the market for a new one soon, and I've been keeping my eye out for them!
you mentioned about tossing all your notebooks and starting fresh for 2020 but i think i would advise against it. working on notebooks and journals throughout the years is what makes completing them feel so amazing. and wow the EC folios are sooo cute!
I really loved watching your notebook challenge. I didnt participate because I dont have extra notebooks but it was fun to watch. I aspire to have a notebook collection like yours someday lol. And I cant wait for your 2020 planner lineup and the pen challenge! I'll live vicariously through you lol
I really need to start doing the Notebook Challenges, but I admit that my motivation is really using up the notebooks I have so I can BUY MORE NOTEBOOKS. I'm definitely choosing a word for 2020 but I am not really sure what it's going to be yet. Love that you do a nightly Tarot draw. I used to do that also, but I haven't in awhile and there's really no good reason for it; my cards are hanging out on my nightstand wondering why I'm not using them. I really need to get better with organizing my time ... one more reason I'm really looking forward to HB90 kicking off next week! And I also didn't know you were a gamer! I play WoW and Diablo--or I do when I'm not teaching, because that really eats up my time. (There's that word again. Maybe that's my word for 2020. TIME.)
Oh, you just pour out happiness and enthusiasm! I just enjoy watching your videos so much! You are such an inspiration! That Erin Condrin 2020 planner is gorgeous! Happy holiday time to you and your family! xoxo-Julie
Oh how my office looks like yours ! LOL! And I went to Michaels online and just bought 2 more lined notebooks. I am so happy I'm not the only one who collects planners and notebooks :) Hugs to you!
I cannot believe how fast this year flew by. My word for 2020 will be Rise, as in rising up out the ash of a really difficult year, and all the internal things I've been allowing to hold me back.
I really enjoy your videos. They are helping me move forward into a new chapter in my life with writing and set goals. Thanks so much for your inspiration.
I used a random word generator and I got the word “scholarship” so I’m focusing on learning things in 2020. Took the pressure out of picking a very meaningful word.
Thank you, Sarra! For sharing yourself, your ideas, your love of notebooks, organizers, and encouraging us to do the same! So happy I found you and enjoy all the content you share. I love the idea of a word for the year, and hearing you say you want to enjoy what you do as you do it and focus on that and serving others, it resonates. I can’t wait to continue the challenge into 2020 and add pens too!
It's great to be among other notebook lovers/addicts! I love your uses for the Erin Condrin Deluxe Monthly Planner. I was looking to buy one to do budgeting in, but like your ideas so much more. Love, love, love the extra pages at the back and your tip of putting washi on the edge of a pages to designate sections. Very cool!
It feels like I spent 2019 gathering notebooks! I love the Erin Condren notebooks so picked up quite a few of the productivity type and one lined. I think I'll jump in and join the challenge in 2020 to start using these up!
Thanks Sarra- I'm loving all the planning and organization videos for authors. I've been using your kanban board design and 2020 will be the year of the planner for me! Love EC designs. Can't wait for the pen challenge- I'm a pen hoarder for sure :)
I am getting myself organized . I have been looking at planners that I can keep up with appointments, family and goals that I am planning. I have enjoyed the youtube videos that have explained the different planners and how they are set up . It gives me an idea what would work for me. That EC planner cover and planner is georgeous. Finding a word for 2020 is such a great idea, I will start thinking deeply on what that word will be for me. I am excited about becoming a planner and looking forward to carring around such a beautiful planner (smile). I am looking forward to following you on Instagram....."Peace" is a word that would rest with my soul for 2020.
That cover is so pretty! Definitely gonna do the notebook challenge next year, I have so many just lying in a drawer, lol. I would also love a video about your word of the year. I’m leaning towards Create for my word since it encompasses so many things that I love to do and want to spend more time doing.
I am so excited to start the new year!!! I’m already looking forward to use the DIY stationery supplies I’ve been creating and finally try the planning method I think would be most fitted for me...
I'm so excited to hear you're finishing up the third book of the Eternal Sorrows series. I read both books at beginning of week, and I can't wait to read the conclusion.
I started this month off on a bad note--I came down with a horrible cold that knocked me out of work for almost this entire week. Thankfully, I am getting better and should be able to go back to work tomorrow. But I am going through a serious case of behind-on-everything-itis. And I was already behind on the Notebook Challenge before this! 😟 I've been trying and failing to set up new systems with the new notebooks I got from my bestie last month. I am determined, however, to get a good system going for 2020! I started writing in a self-care journal, which I plan to continue using. I somehow LOST the pretty bullet journal I had set up for the MD series! Thankfully, nothing was written in it. I think I may have left it at my main job. Either that, or it's somewhere in my disaster of a room, buried under other notebooks or who knows what. (I feel your pain, Sarra--I've been struggling with keeping my bedroom/Writer Cave clean and organized, too!) That Erin Condren Deluxe Monthly is so cool! I can see so many uses for that notebook. Budgeting, home projects, writing projects...the list is endless. I wouldn't mind winning it! 💖💖💖
I can't believe the year is nearly over! I didn't have a word this year but next year is Learn. I'm moving into the editing phase of my novel with the hope of being ready to publish late next year. So I have a lot to learn next year!!
Hi, Sarra! I know it's a little past Thanksgiving, but I wanted to take a second and thank you for sharing so much about yourself and your journey with all of us. You're incredibly gracious and generous and I just wanted to let you know how grateful I've been to have found you, your videos, and your HB90 system. You're truly a gift to the indie author community. So again, THANK YOU.
My word for 2019 was SURRENDER and I feel like my life's improved so much because of it. Having that mindset of flowing and surrendering the result was a game-changer for me.
Thanks for your videos. I didn't participate in the notebook challenges in 2019 but after watching a few of your videos, I pulled out all of my notebooks and am in the process of deciding what I'm going to use them all for.
I love notebooks, but find I hoard the beautiful ones. Your video is inspiring, I'm going to pull one out now and start jotting down ideas. I'm glad I found your channel and look forward to seeing more content in the future.
Happy I found this channel...I have a ton of notebooks and pen and I need to find more ways to use them up. I really love the EC Deluxe Monthly! I had one in 2017 and the layout was just a bit different, but I like this one even better. Would love to use this in 2020!
Love this challenge! I always both used and hoarded my notebooks but this month I'm finishing 10 notebooks, 3 of which are novels in progress and are tying up and getting done. Hadn't realized finishing the notebooks would mean finishing the novels, and finishing has been a challenge the last couple years! Thank you! I LOVE the Erin Condren giveaway notebook/planner. Whether or not I even come close to winning it, watching the video added a component to the upcoming fantasy novel starting in 2020 (it added faeries. Everything is better with faeries.) Now to pick up all those notebooks because the cat is nesting in them. Thank you, Sarra!
Hello. You have done so well with your notebook challenge. I fell by the wayside early on in the year as I was nursing my Mum in her last few months and have struggled to focus since she died. So I think that my word should be focus on one thing at a time. The EC monthly would be a great tool as I declutter her stuff and mine over 2020. I can’t cope with the amount of stuff in my house but want to be methodical in the process so nowhere gets missed! So I will be joining next year to try again. I know it’s early but Happy Christmas!
this year has gone by so FAST! I'm excited for 2020 and already have a notebook idea - kind of a takeoff on the 30 Days of Lists hashtag. I'm going to make lists in April, June, September and November (you know, all the 30 day months! lol) with different themes - happy things or fun things or get out of a funk things. I'm still fine-tuning some of the list ideas, but I think it'll be fun. And at the end of the year I'll have a year's worth of happy, grateful, weird, silly, whatever lists!
