David Attenborough has stated they've used captive animals in the documentaries he's done. A notable example is in the film the Frozen Planet, where the entire polar bear cub birth scene is shot in a zoo using fake snow.
As long as it's not fictitious on the educational aspect.... I just watched a docu that said a gator balanced a stick on its nose to lure a bird. A few edited clips, and they show a gator eating a bird. "This has never been filmed before" says the narrator. And I agree.
@@jheevanesh yeah.. I found out the Netflix show our planet lied about the walrus’ falling off the cliffs. It was because of polar bears and not because of climate change melting all the ice...
So, less documentary and more docudrama. A common trope using a narrative about a specific animal or group of animals to inspire more compassion for the whole species. News about people often employees the same tactics. Constructing narratives about individuals in a larger struggle so viewers might identify with those individuals and not disconnect due to the deluge of information and statistics in the big picture. Perhaps some disclaimers for recreations should be used. Maybe even a prologue to explain that real nature shots have been mixed with manufactured shots to tell a story and why.
Heck that hurling of the cliff. I now will keep doubts open in every animal documentary. This brings sense now too for my questions when I was young for example of a snake filmed as it moves, the camera was on its body. As long as it's in the credits, however, at least it can help for a better cause when people have their hearts captured by the acting animals also as stated in the end, without having to disrupt actual wild animals.
Maybe they were referring to bears only with the chocolates? Since it would take high doses for it to be toxic. Trainers would probably be well-aware not to kill the animals they spent a lot on. But still pretty cruel to think of
i actually kind of agree with what the guy is saying, yes the whole thing was fake, but the animals weren't, so does it matter if theyr are captive actors or wild beats? they are still beautiful creatures and we are fortunate to be able to witness they're fantastic and funny behavior- if we interfere with them in the wild too much it could have disastrous consequences for the animals themselves not to mention other humans they come into contact with are potentially in harms way- sad but true...
by the way, he doesn't mean all nature documentaries- he mean's feature lengths disney animal films. obviously david attenborough wouldn't pull this crap.
Pls dont be heartbreaking judt listen to the ending and understand why they try to do it besides money. Do u really want random people fliming u at ur everyday life? Or actors
when you see a movie,,,,,did you know they are just acting,,,,captain jack sparrow is not real! the part is played by a guy called Johny dep....whooooo caaaares!
