Deception Pass State Park is one of Washington State's most breathtaking and historic state parks. Located at the northern tip of Whidbey Island, this stunning park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and offers a unique blend of natural beauty and rich history.
Deception Pass State Park features two main campgrounds: Cranberry Lake and Quarry Pond. I stayed at Cranberry Lake Campground for its serene lake and proximity to many of the park's attractions, such as the scenic beach and swimming area.
I've been visiting Deception Pass State Park every year, but only during the other three seasons. This summer, I discovered that it's an amazing place not only for strolling along the beach and hiking the trails, but also for swimming. I regretted not bringing my kayak this time, but I'll definitely make sure to bring it next year to fully enjoy the beautiful waters of Deception Pass.
