I learned this prayer of letting go about a year ago, "Jesus I abandon myself to you, Jesus you take over". I'm using this prayer for my morning daily prayer before I start my chores and whenever I feel overwhelmed!
Thank you so much for this. My Lenten promise this year is to be a "finisher." I have paralysis when it comes to completing projects, goals and even promises because I am so worried that I'm not doing things perfectly, even doing things I know God has called me to do. I'm like Moses telling God that Aaron should do the talking. My goal for Lent is to just look over my life and finish things with the motto, "Done is better than perfect." I'm offering up the imperfections and the fear of criticism with the finished product.
I like what you say. I have suffered with this for years. His has been helping me and healing me of any old wounds and false programs. I have come a long way and am grateful. I pray God blesses your journey.
This is something I also struggle with! Something I have learned about that I think about often is that devout Islamic artists will intentionally make a mistake in their art because they believe perfection is God's alone. As a perfectionist myself, that inspires me to offer all my mistakes and imperfections to the Lord!
I am in the same boat. Lots of stuff to do on my plate and I have a hard time getting around to finishing my tasks as I want to do them perfectly. That's a great goal for lent, to be a finisher. A humble finisher as I rely on God's grace and not my own efforts to get stuff done. Thanks for sharing 😊
“Only a sinner, needs a savior; Only someone who is lost needs a redeemer; Only someone is is broken needs a healer;” …. I find I focus on all my many failures and hide from Jesus in shame. I realize now I have to focus on Jesus our Savior. I am the lost, broken sinner. That’s a fact. Jesus is the only way out. Why is that so hard for me to remember. God, help me to start my day in praise and thanksgiving for You! Help me to always look to you in prayer not dwell on me Thank you Ken and Janelle!! Your videos are so powerful. ❤👍🏻
Complete trust in God is absolutely essential in our lives. Once I realized this, I have been experiencing so much more peace. I start my day by giving it to the Lord and allowing Him to lead me in everything I do.
For the pass few days I have been saying to myself " for I'm nothing without God and I'm everything with God ". Thank you for sharing you may my day and inspire me to be a better catholic.
I talked with Jesus in Adoration about this today! I admitted I keep trying to fix my own problems, instead of remembering that I am able to surrender everything to him. He reminded me of St. Therese, and I, too, can be His beloved child; I can nap in His lap, and let Him take care of everything.
I just discovered you. Thank you for your witness and the beauty and humility that shines from both of you with such love and .gentleness. I always believed that I’m nothing without God but you brought it home so powerfully that it registered in a new way! God is so mindful of our need. Your message particularly touched me today. The Lord hears and will deliver us from any of our struggles. God will make a way. Heavenly Father, only you know the burdens I face. As a single mom I’m struggling to make ends meet. Lord give me strength to get through each day. Both of my sons are special needs and require much from me. It’s difficult to raise children alone. BUT I keep faith Lord Jesus. Even as I struggle to pay rent and as I struggle to buy groceries for my children. I’m so ashamed. Jesus deliver me.
Thank you for sharing your gift of trust in God. Thank God for the gift of faith that you have by His grace. Humility is forgiving you enemies!! Never judge anyone ( political class, neighbor, ect.ect)!! It's real power over selfish thinking!! Leaving everything to God's will is humility!! Humility is very very empowering!!
Searching for and Maintaining Peace by Father Jacques Philippe is a book that's gotten me through some stressful periods in my life. I highly recommend that smallish 100 pg book to anyone longing for God's peace. You both had a number of good reflections on humility. "We are nothing without God". I totally agree but doesn't that go against all of the self esteem talking points of recent years. Yes, we are doing our children no favor by having so much focus on them and their feeling of power, worth, beauty etc.without making sure that they know ALL comes from God. If they and we don't have Faith that it's all the gift of God's Grace's and give continual praise of thanksgiving to Him then our lives are for nothing. 🙏👆🙏🙌💖💝

Total dependence on our Lord- any given day when things don’t go just right, we stray in that trust. This will help remind myself that through the day speak of his will and know the GRaces he bestows on me. ( I’m going to rewind and write that prayer down as well; such a beautiful reminder.
Does God receive our prayers even if there was distraction during those prayers? My mind races so much. I was told these distractive prayers fall onto the devils ears and not God’s ears. If so, I am horrified.
