Man, you mentioned h-street which reminded me of Matt Hensley. Someone I enjoyed watching skate and got to meet and hang out with him a few times when he quit pro and came to Chicago to find his way. Decks have definitely changed some since I skated last, but I ordered one of my favorites I had 30+ of back in the day, a Powell Mike vallely elephant. It’s 8.25 , but that was never paid attention to back in our day. Thanks for sharing.
I live in Valparaiso indiana. I first met him at an h-street demo at my local skate shop/park. Then I met him at Medusa’s nightclub where with my friend we chatted for a few hours and exchanged numbers. My friend kept in touch with him and on 3 occasions we all met up down in the loop and bounced around different spots have sessions along the way. I don’t know the specific spots anymore as I avoid the city now as best as I can
Greetings my fellow brother of the board. I came across your channel today for the first time. First of all, I want to say thank you for your service. Second, taking 22 years off from skating and picking it back up along with skating multiple disciplines is awesome. It truly surprises and warms my heart at the same time how many individuals are skating at our age these days. I am 49 myself and I still enjoy skating just as much if not more when I was younger. Granted I have taken time off as well among the years. I checked out the site for GLS. I love the name. Congratulations on having your own company. Question? Have you ever thought about putting together a team for the brand? Just an idea mind you. I am by no means telling you how to run your company. Now I know most people our age has work and family to attend too. However, what if you spread the word around your local area. Have a team of let's say five men and five women. Have individuals submit their video to you. Then you and your wife can screen and choose possibly candidates. However, you would have to set an age eligibility 40+ or 45+ your choice. I know this may sound discriminatory, but the company is named GLS for a reason. After which, schedule a time and date for a demo. I think scheduling will be the tricky part. At the demo you can perhaps have a BBQ with music and jars to accept donations. Plus, I think it would be inspiring for the next generation to watch and show them that age is just a number. If there is something that truly inspires an individual the only limits are the ones we put on ourselves. Take care of yourself.
@@mr.dadskates1068 Hello, I see. Putting a team together is a slow and selective process. Thanks for answering my question. Have a wonderful day. Take care of yourself.
