I was going to say something similar. Since Jake started as a green horn deck hand, he pretty much worked all the positions on the boat, so he knows not only the risks involved in each position. Also, he knows that if respect him, it’ll makes it easier for them to trust each other in that environment, hopefully to minimize these types of situations. Lastly, the dynamic that crew has, even calling themselves “four horsemen”, shows that those guys consider themselves family, and Jake has helped influence that by the way he runs things on his boat. He’s come a long way from being the guy who took over for Elliot, and the toxic environment that came with the job. He’s still a bit of a maniac, but he’s managed to use that energy into the more positive aspects of being a Captain, rather than feeding it into the stress, anxiety, and chaos that comes with the job. Dude works hard, and takes care of his crew.

For sure no doubt I love Jake he is one of my favorites
