For our discussion video series for the Readings in Philippine History, We will talk about the declaration of Philippine independence. We will discuss the subsequent events of the 1897 Biak na Bato Pact and the 2nd phase of the revolution up to the declaration of Philippine Independence.

Prof. next naman po yung relationship ni Aguinaldo at Luna. Meron po kasing mga articles na nagsasabi na mismo si Aguinaldo ang nagsugo sa pagpatay kang Luna. July 18, what year po Prof? itinatag ang biak na bati republic at noong December 18, what year din po yon Prof? Noong may nag tigil putukan o seas fire. For me Biak na Bato and Malolos constitution helped establish the country as a republic and create peace in the country although we cannot really give a clear cut impression because both lasted for a short period of time

Yes! Eventhough there are a lot of controversies, the Philippine revolution gave birth to the next generation of Nationalists that brought the Philippines closer to Independence.

To be fair, please do not use "Filipino" . Instead use 'Tagalogs." It was not a war that includes the Visayan islands. Biac na Bato republic has no bearing to the people of the Visayas. Please do not make false statements.
