In 2023 I am starting the year with a massive declutter throughout the house. Room by room, every nook and cranny. If you like this type of videos and need some decluttering inspiration, you are in for a long series!
In this video I am still working in the kitchen reclaiming a corner from random junk and yes, more grime and waste!

I am sure appreciating your videos! It has inspired me to keep going with decluttering kitchen cabinets and drawers. I have cleaned and decluttered two cabinets and 7 drawers. I still have 11 cabinets to go, and 4 drawers.The most are the pantry pullout cabinet and the pantry cabinet with shelves and spice pullout. I have to remind myself I am making progress! I am so glad you will go through the whole house, as my house is a disaster zone. And I get anxious with trying to figure out where to get started. This way, I watch a video, get inspired, and get to work. I sure appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos, as well as the courage to put yourself "out there". Don't feel bad about getting rid of the teas. Your peace of mind and declutter process is more important than wasting tea bags. Think of all the things you decluttered throughout your journey. People who write bad comments are not meant for your channel. And you're not wasting them. They're wasting your peace of mind.

Don't feel bad for letting stuff go that has either gone bad or stopped serving you! As a seamstress I have been called out in the past for getting rid of a lot of thread as it had deteriorated and gone bad..... what was I supposed to do? Sew clothing and then have the pieces all fall apart just because I didn't want to "waste" the old thread? Nope. You did a super great job!!!👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻❤️

Thanks for the gentle nudge toward my own declutter! Just a thought with the teas, I often take those sorts of things to my workplace and just add them to the staff room. There is always someone who will use them.

My grocery bags live in the trunk of my car! Now, they don't take up valuable real estate in my house and I *never* forget to take them to the store with me! I stuff the many into my largest one (my freezer bag). Done and done!

The chairs are back! Congrats! We have bought a new table and new chairs for the kitchen. My hubby tried to persuade me to keep the old and partly broken ones. I refused. No "just in case" pieces. If the old ones had been fine, we would not have bought the new set.

Another small area that looks so much better after being decluttered, Sophia! You could still keep the soda stream there if you really wanted to. Just add a wall shelf that is only big enough to fit the soda stream and doesn't have extra space to attract any other clutter.

For me, the decluttering process is such a learning experience and sobering process for me. THIS year, I’m concentrating on being more focused on my spending habits. I’m an impulse buyer 😢. I’m training myself to stay off of Amazon and other sale sites 😊😊😊 I felt your pain over that tea…. I just did the exact same thing when I decluttered my kitchen 😊😢😊😢😊😢 Good luck on your journey.

I helped my sister clean & organize her house once and we found 10 belts in her son’s closet. He was only 10yrs old at the time. I guess 10 times she couldn’t find his belt for his pants for church on Sunday and she went out and bought another one each time. It happens! Life happens!

take the tea to the office for others to enjoy. Maybe they will like the flavors. Double up or triple up on the weak tea to make stronger tea at honey and drink cold or make a home made chai.

You did great with the tea and you hit the nail on the head with subscription boxes. I’m glad you didn’t force yourself to try/like the ones you don’t. Unfortunately those boxes always have some things we won’t like. Just try to let go of the guilt. I love your channel💛

I think the boxes are great for 6 to 12 months. After that you need to switch to something else or stop. It is inevitable, otherwise, that you will get a lot of repeats or get bored.

Sophia, You did very well at the decluttering today! The FlyLady system was life changing for me. Started in 2013 and still using it. We will be moving one last time in March/April and I will be decluttering like mad. Waiting until I get into my home to see what fits, what doesn't before I start.

Sophia one idea for cast iron is to hang it on the wall. My Mom has all of hers hanging up so it's easier for her to maintain and care for, it also adds to the decor, if you like that kinda stuff. I like the idea of putting it were it won't get dusty however Mom doesn't have to worry about that as much because hers is used on a daily basis. I really like the way you and scot have fixed up your kitchen over the years. It looks really nice. And thank you for keeping it real, because it shows the rest of us that it's okay to change your idea on how you store things as time changes and if things aren't working. Some times people just need to see a different way to do something for their ideal solution, or a solution that's inspired loosely by the videos they watch.

The charity shops near me are happy to take surplus reusable bags. They use them to give out to customers who have forgotten to bring their own bags!

Just a tip, maybe it works for you. When i have stuff that i don´t like, like tea´s, coffee´s or lightly used makeup or even unused. I bring it to my office. It seems that there is always someone who needs things. So maybe next time don´t put it in a corner, instead let other people have it, who would use it. :)

From what I remember, your cookbooks were on the shelves underneath the counter. Then you decided to make that counter (and those shelves) your office. You decluttered that and reorganized that area 2 or 3 times, I think . You ended up moving your office upstairs. I have the same issues on my bedroom!!
