My hardest digital declutter are my computer files. I have assignments from middle school and I always think, "what if I want to look back on these later?"
Oh! Save those in a folder on Dropbox and then just unsync it from your hard drive. So you can still view it on web and download if you want but it’s not taking up actual storage! I have lots of old memories saved that way :)
@@julesacree oh my gosh I didn’t realize you could unsync from hard drive. That is so good to know (goes back to reupload all old work files I moved from Dropbox to a usb lol)
I have 35,189 photos/videos right now, oops, lol. But! A year or two ago, I set a weekly reminder on Sundays to spend ten minutes clearing out screenshots. If they're memories, they get saved in my journaling app; if they're reminders, I make sure the relevant information gets put in my to-do app. That has helped tremendously!
O have like the exact same amount😅 but I don’t know how I will ever get through it because when I try to go through them I get so easily overwhelmed that I can’t do it.. I need heeelp
omg same!!! i used to have a reminder to clear out some photos every week and i stopped doing it now i have 13k photos/videos - which i know most are screenshots - around 5k which i don’t need ALL of those 💀😭😭
Loved this! One suggestion to add to digital decluttering is notifications! Going through and turning off push notifications you don’t actually need is a great way to clear your digital space and reduce unnecessary screentime distractions 🙂
I. Have less than 2, 000. A cool way I organized the 10k video and photo on my content phone is add the designated video/photo into a folder so when you need to declutter you can upload the folder onto Dropbox and delete off phone. Thank you for another great video.
Sitting at 21,000 photos 🙈 Definitely going to use Gemini to start sorting through them! and I've been using Leave Me Alone for awhile now, after your recommendation! I love an email newsletter (especially Slow Brew Sunday 💖) and Leave Me Alone definitely helps me keep things more sane!
It always surprises how effective the digital decluttering is, yet it makes so much sense! So much of my day-to-day is online, either via work or on my phone and I love these recommendations! Thank yoU!
Thank you so much for showing me this cause I need to delete some of my stuff that I don't need for my phone so I can have more space and more gagobites
Loved this video Jules! A much needed declutter these days! Do you know any app that helps to do the same in social media? After years of mindless following/accepting requests, I'm feeling tired, but I still love the social media for keeping in touch with some foreing friends and for inspo, also I wouldn't like to delete the photos/videos shared there over the years. I´ve tried to delete some friends/ followers, but after around 5, the app stops letting, so it will be a really slow process... any tips?
Decluttering my photos is one of my biggest organization hurdles - especially all of my screenshots! Thank you for sharing how you organize - definitely implementing those moving forward! (And I am absolutely an inbox 0 girl!)
I've never thought about the fact that you can get an app to help with unsubscribing. GENIUS! Also, absolutely keeping my slow brew sunday subscription, I look forward to it every week! 😁
This is an area I am good at because I cannot stand my email inbox being cluttered because it overwhelms me. Now my computer on the other hand needs some work lol
I felt really bad about myself because of the amount of pictures I have on my phone. I just looked and it’s 16.294, it’s still a lot and I need to declutter, but now I feel better and like I can actually do it 😅 it’s nice to see I’m not the only one with this problem
This was SO NEEDED! Thank you for laying out this process because it made it simpler. Now, I took the whole week to get it done cause billions of emails, but it’s done and I feel so much lighter🤗
Thank you so much for this guide! It made my digital declutter so easy :) I really wanted to do this for the new year and to think I actually made it is great! Thank you so, so much
I love the idea of deleting screenshots! I have like 46K photos on my phone 😳 and I NEVER delete photos & the idea of going through my photos is overwhelming so screenshots seems like a manageable place to start 😅
I've been decluttering every night. Yes i know, it would be better to do it during the day, but I just really love the gratification before bed. My mailbox was so overflowing, and even though I'm still working through my to do's, this gives me instant satisfaction. So yes let's go !! Can't wait to have renewed my whooooole life. I'm moving houses around this time so I feel like I'm starting brand new. Let's start this chapter freshhhhh with Jules
and, you know discovering spark is even more amazing on desktop after watching this video. Have been using it on my phone thanks to simplify and thrive course, but now - MINDBLOWN. thanks!
I started to declutter my phone in october then got sick... I'm finally in holiday again so I'll start over, along with room declutter. Good thing is : now I only have less than 10k photos to declutter lmfao
You have a nice idea there although ive seen it on twitter by many people including the number of photos sharing. However this feels like a paid video for third party apps….
This is an exhausting step! I'd rather be running around the house cleaning...but I did get some of it done. I'd would also like to add in sorting my phone photos into folders. I think I'll finish my digital decluttering in the new year.
I love this, and it’s just what I need to start the new year outright! I always wondered if there were apps that could help me unsubscribe. Thanks for sharing.
this inspired me to go through and declutter my backlog of old photos on a back up hard drive. still a work in progress, but definitely made a great dent in it!
One of the best things i've done is simplify and thrive, that was the template that completely got me into Notion ♡ thank you for this reminder and cosmic spank
Always love watching this series as a way to end my year/start the next one! Thank you for creating this space for us! Unrelated question @julesacree: where is your Apple Watch band from?
Jules!! Would you consider making a Book List to track reads and thoughts for Notion? I’m currently using your K-Drama template for mine! 🙈 Love your brilliant brain and spirit! Thank you for all you do! 🥹
I appreciate all the 3rd party apps you mentioned here. It hardly crossed my mind to digitally de-clutter on an annual basis, but it makes a lot of sense. Thanks for being true to you! 🩷
Hi Jules, Happy Holidays, I really need this digital declutter. I will definitely work on this over my time off and try to keep up on it in 2024. As always, I appreciate your newsletter and ideas. XO from MN, Stephanie (@SakuraStephPlans)
