Welcome back to another Slow Fashion Friday video where I am decluttering my home & my reselling business one cluttered space at a time! This week I’m going through ALL of my holiday decorations that I've collected for almost thirty years! My basement space is really overwhelming! I felt like a hoarder with the amount of stuff I have! I hope you enjoy this week's video and the transformation of my space!!

My husband goes crazy at my “saved boxes” pile every year! He always says “ Have they stopped making boxes?” When I did most of my shopping at department stores, they gave you nice boxes with your purchase. No more!

I love these Friday declutter days. I went through ALL my Christmas bins this month. I have bins and bins full. They certainly do not make bins today like they did years ago. I love the old bins ( very sturdy) Any way i donated a lot. Anything with glitter out! Nice pieces but I just don’t like it anymore. Heavy duty pine coned and branch garland that I paid a lot for, I got rid of some of it. I wrap everything no bags, and I keep box’s because you don’t get them anymore at stores. You buy them and they r so flimsy. I separated ornaments for my kids. They now each have a bin. They will have no problem filling a tree. Lol… I have 3 trees that I put up. Plus 1 upstairs. One real and 3 artificial. I have Caroling people. The way I see is we are purging, but making other people so happy with our donations. 🎅🏻

As a home organizer, I will tell you every home has a hidden closet and or storage room. They all look the same. So proud of you both. I believe that lumpy was thinking he was at Santa's workshop when he was down looking around the toys. Love your content as always and I think you are bringing me more business because I have clients that are calling here in Connecticut asking me if I can help them and if I know you. Thank you for sharing Lori. We raised 5 kids and had lots stuff to. I found listening to " the minimalist " really got me going. It's not about becoming a minimalist but just makes u think of all the stuff we really do not need to keep. We are all consumed by to much stuff just in case. I have very little now and feel great. I started with you 15 weeks ago with my linen closet (I still enjoy looking at it!) Like you my 4 kids are now out of the house, we even moved and downsized and i still have stuff I’m going through. This is by far my fav RU-vid series ever. So inspiring to get things decluttered one area at a time. My kids will be here this week for thanksgiving then on Saturday my Christmas declutter/decorating begins! You did a great job! Keep it up you are seriously inspiring us all!!

March 2021, I lost my sweet husband. We had a 4 bedroom home! I have 9 kids who stepped up and cleared out our house of 35 years worth of stuff! Really downsized!!! Now I am in a condo. I love all of your decluttering videos. My decluttering project is my basement. It has turned into my adult children’s storage unit. One has come to look through her stuff and said I can toss whatever is left which is a lot! My other daughter moved to California from Michigan several years ago and only took what she could fit in her car. It is a big job but I’m determined to get it done little by little. You inspire me every week to get going on it

I used to put up three trees in my Jersey home. At one point I decided to take a lot of the ornaments and divided them among my three kids. The majority of them were the ones that they hung on the tree when they were young. One of my daughters now favors ornaments I got from the Scandivanian shop in Paramus NJ in the seventies and asked me to look for more for her. They are difficult to find so I ended up buying a few online for her. I've also been downsizing my Halloween things. I'm not feeling the holidays here in Florida where I live now. Somehow it all doesn't feel right.

We are decluttering the 0-12 month things this week and I only saved a few of our favorite things for each of our boys. Just a few tears 🥰! We have a young couple at our church who are both still in college that have a agreed to take many of the bigger items and I have a bag for our women’s shelter. Reclaiming space feels so good and being able to give these items a 3rd life with another little helps me to appreciate the gifts our friends and family have given us over time!

Oh my goodness. I thought I had a lot of decorations to get rid. I put two bins of items in a rummage sale and nothing sold. Tempted to list some of it. But I only have one bin left of things I actually kept. I can imagine the weight that is lifted when you regain the room back. Good luck. (Writing this as I just started watching.)

Lol...i had english muffins with stonewall kitchen blueberry rubarb jam the otjer night for supper with apples and those little tubs of carmel sauce ....my granddaughter was over andxdid t feel like cooking. It it was great. Filled the stomach !!!😅

Lori don't feel bad. I have three or four times the christmas stuff you do. My Dad lives with me (he's 82) and he's been a christmas hoarder all his life. It's his favorite time of the year and mine as well. Add all of my own christmas to his and look out! lol And we have three totes full of gift bags! We reuse them as long as possible and then they go in the recycling. I'm so loving your decluttering videos. I'm going to be sad when you're done with your whole house. lol Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!

Don't feel bad, my parents' basement looks the exact same. Actually probably worse because they dont have shelving like you do. Ive actually been trying to get my Mom to get some shelving so it isnt a maze of stacked storage bins and boxes.

I enjoyed seeing the Carolers. My former mother-in-law had a large collection of them that she gave me many years ago. They were showcased on my fireplace mantel for years, but I ended up gifting them to each of my daughter-in-laws, so they are shared with each of my 3 son’s families. I have been slowly decluttering my Christmas decor each year as I pull it out to decorate. My kids get first dibs and if they don’t want it, it’s donated. It’s a very liberating feeling!! Your home looks lovely!

My husband and I went through all the Christmas decorations bin a few years ago and have been slowly but surely cutting back on all kinds of clutter around the house. I read a book called "Keep the memories, not the stuff" and it's been very helpful. You are getting there Lori! Have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving!

Love this series. Very motivating! We went through Christmas deco 2 weeks ago. Got rid of 2 large moving boxes of old Christmas deco. I had to laugh when you explained your shades of red. Yes! And I went through the pastel phase too. I've settled on traditional red and green and the rest is donated. Here's an idea...if it's the face of the angel you like, find an angel with a dress you like and have a crafty person (your mom?) switch it out. Win win! Thanks again for your great chanel!

Good job! Im a bit horrified over that basement room😅. I would be totally overwhelmed. Decorating the tree in november! We (im swedish) don't decorate until a week before christmas. Some for 1st of advent, but it do look very peaceful and cosy in your living room! I feel an itch to declutter now. Love this series!
