I'm not really a makeup person but decided to declutter along with you. I was surprised how much I held on to. I kept only what I love and use not what I think I should use. In the end, I let 70% of it go. It feels so good!
One thing to add to your makeup regimen …. Brush Cleaning! Sigma makes a nice brush scrubbing pad. Drying rack to air dry brushes (upside down) keeps them in great shape longer. Mild shampoo. Benefits: healthier skin, longer product shelf life, and better care for $$ brushes.
I love how thoughtful how declutter was! I wish brands would be more forthcoming with samples (in recyclable packaging). Love trying new makeup but it pains me so much to have to throw things out ☹️
Oh I love this video, just like I loved the 'old' make up and skincare declutter videos! So calming and great to grab my own stuff and declutter along with you. Would LOVE to see another skincare declutter, your explanations and descriptions are so helpful
I have 2 foundation, 2 concealers, 3 mascaras, 8 lipsticks (7 nude shades & 1 wine shade lol), 2 blushes, 2 liners (brown & skin colour), 1 bronzer, 2 eyeshadow palettes & 1 makeup fixer. These are enough for me. Ik my collection might be too much for some people. But I'm neither a minimalist person nor a hoarder. I like to keep things which I know I'll be using. So there's hardly any wastage of products😄. I absolutely love your videos. Been following you for a long time. You, Vera & Minimal Mom are my three fave youtubers♥️.
Great declutter. Love the new haircut on you, and I bet you’ll really enjoy the Merit mascara. I think it’s a great one and nobody is talking about it.
My impulse shopping mind is turning this video into a shopping list oh my god - love all your videos and might have to try out Jones Road in the future!
I got to thinking ...even if I lived to be 100, I still wouldn;t be able to use up all the makeup I had so, I decided to gift ( unused portions of course ) , and the rest, I used to paint with kids as a way to pass the time....we threw away the art afterwards....no need to save...too messy, but it was a fun way to spend the day, & we didn't have to buy paint. I've decided not to have too much makeup or stuff . I wouldn't want anyone to inherit my mess.
I just found your channel and have been watching so much. Your style videos are inspiring because you come up with super cute options that are versatile and realistic. And I don’t feel like I have to go shopping after I watch which is nice.
Love your hand gestures - recently completed a presentation workshop and the instructor said to try to use hand gestures even in zoom which you kinda have to consciously think about but it makes a difference. What I find most useful on makeup vlogs is honest opinions of how the products work over time. I have bought so many products based on beauty vloggers but suspect they are either being sponsored or just promoting free gifts from beauty lines. Also unwrapping it out of the box and then doing some random swatching is not necessarily a good indication of whether the makeup will perform well day to day over time.
Definetly living longer de luter videos and the way you explain why things are going or staying. It helps one put perspective on their own style of declutering or taking a fresh take on what they have. ❤
I just found your channel ! It’s sooooo refreshing to find someone who doesn’t have sooo much makeup around . I have a problem with trying to catch up with the trends it’s so overwhelming and expensive.
Last time I purged my makeup I tackled my makeup brushes too. I would blend my eyeshadows or foundation on my arm. It was super easy and fun to see which blended better or blotchy. I definitely recommend this swatching for tools too!
The pink Jones Road is actually really great! I’m super fair also. I have heard others say they mix a little pink with a little of the light one and it’s excellent. 😊
I use the WA drops massaged in with my fingers then touch up the WA stick . I find that works really well and last for me at work . With the WA drops I fine that if I massage it in it gives me coverage . Works so much better that way and blends into my skin and doesn’t look oily . I’m a huge fan of the RMS stunning xx
Since u said u couldn’t remember why u picked pink powder, it’s bc pink powder brightens your complexion. I’m so addicted to luxury makeup & the sad thing is that I only wear makeup about once or twice a week. My 2023 resolution was to only purchase makeup that was very unique or special & to use up what I already have. So far, I’ve done pretty good but there’s always room for improvement. Thanks for a great video.
That cool tone merit blush is gorgeous on you, their products look like a great mix of balmy and pigmented. Also couldn't help noticing the lifting callouses, we love to see it you stylish badass! 💪😁
About the Kosas concealer, the smell comes because they use subpar preservatives 'cause they're a "clean" beauty brand. When it starts smelling bad you should throw it away. It's not the sunflower seeds oil, if you check you'll find it in so much makeup and skincare, cause it's cheap
Multiple independent lab tests have been done one the kosas concealers at different stages. Brand new unopened, open for 3 months and then open for 9 months which according to kosas would be expired. However in the study all 3 came back with no findings of bacteria.
The rare beauty purge hurt me 🤣 but I understand 🤣 I’m a Selena fan so I’m biased. Also I have a huge drawer of makeup I don’t use so this was inspiration I needed to clean it out!
I love the kosas concealer, and I'm on my 5th tube. I buy the full sized version and the only one that got the weird smell was my first one. But I go through them every 4 or 5 months paired with a tinted sunscreen.
Love this declutter - thank you for taking the time for us! I think you would really like the Lisa Eldridge Luxuriously Lucent lipstick in Palazzo and the Velvet lipstick in Petal or Fawn💕✨💕
I love your makeup declutters and have watched every one! Those Jones Road shadows - I have to say, Bobbi Brown makes the best cool-toned eyeshadows. I love cool tones on myself as well. Warm tones make me look too made-up.
Christina I am so so so glad to see you back and me and my sister really really your makeup collection so so much you are my inspiration and I wish you have a wonderful day💫💓🙂
I don’t own a ton of makeup and I did a nice declutter I gave some to family, and just threw some out it felt so GOOD just ugh like so nice and I felt I had more space to try things and I didn’t miss the old stuff if I did I bought a new refreshed product and made a space to use it up and not let it sit around
I really enjoyed this declutter video. Most of the ones I watch have drawers and drawers of makeup, most not even opened. It gives me anxiety to see what feels like a lot of waste. Some of that comes from me not being much of a makeup person. Okay, not a makeup person at all. So, I took a look inside my makeup drawer, and, what the hell! Where did all of that makeup come from? I think it’s from watching RU-vid videos!😳Everyone makes it look so easy, so I go online and order. Then I try it, like it, but hardly ever use it. Or try it, and don’t like it. Either way, it usually gets tossed. I do like a good mascara, and I have 2 or 3 that I like, and wear.😄
As a fellow deep winter, bronzer never looked good on me. And then I found out that bronzer doesn't suit us at all because we are cool undertones, so it always looks too warm on us. Instead I use cool pink blushes to give volume to my cheeks ^_^
Good decluttering job! You look great in the cooler tones. My skin tone is similar to yours, although I’ve got about 50 years on you, and it seems to be neutral/cool. However, I find that the cooler tones flatter the neutral/cool more. Silver or gold jewelry goes with my skin, but the silver looks just a tad better. Same with you? 😊
it's REALLY hard for me to get rid of makeup, especially if i bought it at Sephora OR....better yet, found the good brands like Urban Decay, Benefit, etc at a TJ Max (score) If anything I do roate my makeup out once the winter hits and keep the extra makeup in a storage bin. Always afraid to get rid of anything b/c a. expensive b. here i am buying it again later....haha...
I purchased the merit mascara recently because I wanted to try a new one and I love the brand but it’s a miss for me. Really clumpy and hard to remove 🤷🏽♀️
RECYCLE old (clean) containers! 🌎🌍🌏Somehow that is making it easier for me to release old makeup and toiletries. Sephora, Nordstrom and other stores have RECYCLING BOXES. Ilia, Westman Atelier, and some other companies have more conscious packaging.
Great D, clutter! I love the swatches and exclamations. Super helpful for learning about products and what causes one to either keep or discard an item. What is the Westman Atelier shade you have? I don’t think it was mentioned 😅. I have the stick foundation from Westman too and don’t use it. It’s probably time to pass it along. It doesn’t look good over my spf and I can’t use it under my eyes. Same thing with Merits Stick. I’m drawn to stick/pan cream foundation-concealer products for spot concealing. Westman atelier brand and marketing is just 🤩. I also love the Merit highlight. It’s the perfect balmy glossy sheen rather than metallic and doesn’t mess with my blush color like most others do whether I put it on over or under blush. I enjoy several blush shade as well, and would like to get some lipsticks and mascara!
Christina, what color is the other Just a Sec that you showed? I saw you linked to the Bronze but I can't figure out the other one. Thank you for such a fun video!
I just binge watched all your makeup decluttering videos. You have come a long way I should say. Good job! I love these kind of long videos, perfect for when you're also cleaning and organizing your stuff 🙂💖
Would you mind doing a video once you and your boyfriend get settled into the new apartment? I would love to see how you guys decorated and all of that.
