This video is a how- to for foiling with DecoFoil. I like that you can use Transfer Gel, Adhesive Pen and laser prints with this foil. As I love mixed media, I wanted to show you how to apply this foil with a laminator, iron and by dry transfer to show how versatile these products can be!
I hope that you get good results with it! Foil can definitely have a bit of a learning curve and it takes a bit of experimentation to get the best results.

I generally stick with the Duo Gel because it takes out a lot of the guess work. Foil is expensive, so using the right glue is important. I haven't tried this myself, but you could try using a regular gel medium and let it get mostly dry, then put on your foil and see if it sticks. The key is making sure that it is tacky and mostly dry (so that the gel won't squish or move when you add the foil). You could also look at using Tombow Mono Multipurpose Liquid Glue. You wouldn't get the dimension from this glue like you would with the gel, but it often will stay tacky when it's mostly dry. I've also heard of using double sided tape in place of glue. You would end up with strips of foil over a complicated design, but it can work. I generally like to work with products that have been formulated to work with foil, it saves a lot of time and frustration. But if you'd like to experiment, these are hacks and tips I've heard from other creators that sometimes work with foil.
Foil is fun to use- I like the shine that it adds to projects! Sorry, I'm not totally clear about your question. When you say foil flipping, it could mean a couple of different things. It could mean the color flipping nature of the foil that has more than one color. The other reference could be the fact that you need to flip the foil to the color side before adding it to the adhesive so that you end up with the color on the right side. I'd love to answer your question! When I'm filming, sometimes I get my language confused a bit, let me know if that answers your question for you!
Unfortunately I don't have an experience with raster engraving. All the images that I used with the deco foil were PDF images I printed on my computer.
