📣Take your fluid art to the next level! Enroll in my new acrylic pouring online course🌟SECRET RECIPE FOR FLUID ART SUCCESS🌟here success.sobyartacademy.com/Secret-Recipe-Fluid-Art-Success-Online-Course 🤩 What are the other techniques you would like to see tested with these pre-mixed paints?😍 I would love to hear from you, and thank you for joining me for today’s little experiment!
I'd love to see if these paints work for a Dutch pour or a swipe. Probably not I would guess. Maybe a dip would work well with these. Do you think these are worth the price?
How about making a vertical pour of lines with a solid color on top of a previous pour creating a myriad of vertical lines and swirl lines. Hope I described it right lol :O)~ I would love to see how you would create that. I will duplicate the technic on the surface of a guitar. :O)~
So glad you did this experiment. I just bought & used these DecoArt paints on 2 pieces. 🙁 I had crazing on 1 piece ( I used with Artist Loft Flow acrylic white for base coat) . Colors stayed true and liked the semi- glossy finish when dry. Not sure if I'll invest in more. Thanks for your video! Your experiments looked good, especially the flip cup. Look forward to more of your experiments! 😀
It was fun to watch you experiment with these paints, Olga! The flip cup produced the nicest result, I think. I'm looking forward to whatever other techniques you choose to experiment with! 🤩💖
I really like the flip cup painting! It's so pretty I love those colors together but you're right it looks a little bit dull to me. I'd like to see a straight pour and a swipe. Thank you for all your awesome videos! Love to watch you! Glad you're staying healthy thru this whole thing. Hopefully the distancing will be over SOON! 🙏🤞🥰
Oh great! Thanks for testing that! I almost bought that set too but was apprehensive at the strange color selection. I am very curious to see a colander or Galaxy pour with those paints! Wondering if adding a bit of floetrol would help consistency too.
Pre-mixed paints are wonderful for ring pours when trying to avoid cells. I have a mixing ratio for craft acrylics that I have good success with, but have yet to get a "perfect" cell-free ring pour, it always has a few. The unpredictability is what makes fluid art fun though!
Thank you Sam I love watching your experiments...I have these paints. I really like both of them. I did a ring pour and added "sparkle" on most of the lines. Looks very geode like.
Thank you sooooooo MUCH for doing a review with this paint. I wanted to try it when it came out, but after reading that reviews from customers that had purchased it I was not willing to waste money on it. The composition that you created were really good. Thank you again for trying it out! 🙌🏾🤍
I realize that this video is from 4 years ago, but I have to say that I did try the Deco art Ready Pour paints on small vases, and I didn't like it at all. On some of my vases, the paint didn't even cover the glass very well and you could see through the paint. I managed to get just enough decent ones that I gave out as Christmas gifts to some of my co-workers, last year. I haven't tried them on a canvas yet, but just to use them u, I'll try them on a cheap canvas board. I like the way your paintings came out. I like the flip cup one better. I'm not a fan of silicon and bunches of cells, but it did come out very pretty. ☺
Thank you for doing this study! I am a DecoArt user and it always seemed a little thick to me. Should I add a little water or pouring medium? I always have to use a base coat to get the paint to flow. I cannot do a Dutch pour with it - I gave up trying! The colander pour and funnel pour worked well. Being a beginner, I am satisfied. I noticed there are new colors sold on line now. You are so talented and I love to watch you! ❤
Thank you Olga for always testing & sharing new products & results with us I really appreciate that . I totally agree with you the flip cup turned out way better than the ring pour the look & cells were very nice but of course the crazing & cracking in the ring pour is a huge turn off. And you're right ...they do come in a strange choice of color combos in the sets I also noticed that when I saw them online. You mentioned they were more on the fluid side consistency so If you think they are fluid enough to use for a Dutch pour that would be nice to see the results you get from that but whatever you choose to do would be just fine. Thank you for all your time & effort in making these product test videos !!! Stay well . 😘😘😘😘
So glad to see again the final projects up close while you handle them. I have no idea why I like that rather than just the quiet up-close final result. But anyway. I agree, although the flip cup was really interesting and spacey, I think Artist Loft has DecoArt beat in this category.
👍👍 Thank you for this experiment!!! I've been trying to get ready to pour deco art paint since February but our Michael's is out of stock!! I would like to see your next experiment with these paints be with the blow dryer. I think both pieces turned out pretty. Looking forward to the next video!! Keep on keeping on!! 💜💙💚💛🧡❤
I love these paints! I know some folks think they’re too thick and add something to them, but I love the consistency as is. I opted not to buy the sets but individual colors (I will never see a reason for beige in anything), so my pours come out a bit brighter overall. I would love to see you use these for a kiss pour or traveling kiss pour.
Thank you! I should have gotten a few individual colors for sure, something bright would be awesome. I don't think it's a good idea to get them right now, but maybe in the future I'll do that. What are the techniques that you like doing with them?
Smart Art Materials & Techniques , so far, I’ve done a few ring pours over things then onto a canvas. I poured over a candle holder then over some little tripod canvas stands I have, just to see what patterns I’d get. This paint holds its lines really well, which I love.
I found the consistency of DecoArt RTP paints thicker than other brands and added Floetrol to the mix which turned out pretty well. I do love what you created! As usual!
I love how you experiment! I’ve been using a lot of the premixed artists loft and love it. I get the craziest cells, can you please do a swipe mixing both companies premixed paint so we can see how they do together?
I have both of those sets. I haven't used the carnival set yet. I think I'm going to add some iridescent medium to that beige and see if it will be pretty that way. I love the flip cup that you did.
I really like the flip cup painting! It is such an interesting pattern. I think it's good that you don't just do one test of a new product. I think maybe a swipe and/or a funnel pour might be a good test for these paints? Anyway, I want to say, Olga, your videos can make a bad day better! Keep up the good work! 😘
loved the flip cup!! I think the lavender paint, mint paint, fusha paint and the true blue would mix together nicely for a painting. I would like to suggest a wreck a ring pour.
I always enjoy your product reviews. Paint dullness yet hold their colors is a plus. Crazing is not acceptable to me either. Will look forward to your next review of the product. Thank you for all your videos.
This is so strange, someone else also mentioned the thicker consistency. But I would never call them thick, seems like they have several different consistencies going around.
Question, I have the decoart set of 4 like you. But I also go floetrol and some artist loft acrylic. Can I use the different kinds together? Or do you have to only use decoart ready pour with decoart ready pour and artist loft/floetrol with other artist loft /floetrol?
Hi Olga, Thank you for sharing your experiments with Decoart pouring medium. I liked the flip cup the best. I most enjoy your kissing cups the best, but I don't know how that would do on testing paint.
I really like the flipcup you did. Have you ever used the pouring paint called "Color Pour" from Walmart? I tried some white and the painting turned out terrible with little flecks of white all over the place. Maybe that was because I used it with other paints that had glue, or maybe you can't mix pouring paints with other brands. Do you think that was the problem?
I bought these paints to try so I'd be curious to see what you think of these paints when using a blow dryer. I couldn't get the paint to move. I'm new to paint pouring, so maybe I was doing it wrong.
I've tried these and I have mixed feelings about this particular line of ready pour paints. I have not been able to get consistent results. So I won't use these again and I am next going to try the Artist Loft.
@@OlgaSoby when you were showing where I think u could still see some of the silicone you had your finger on a dark blue cell towards the bottom it's right under that you can see a little black eye and the shape of a dolphin . I saw it lol
Did my first 2 pours with this decoart and it was a complete disaster. I did buy another brand (yellow) from michaels and it seems better so I might get more of that brand. Would you say the decoart doesn't flow that well? I found that and even had a red cup full of paint and couldn't fill a whole canvas 12"x24". I should probably start small too eh? You make this look so easy and I failed :(
Bonjour. comment obtenez-vous des cellules sans utiliser de silicone ? Avez vous ajouté de la colle dans la peinture ?Hello, how do you get cells without silicone ?does the paint contain glue ? Thanks
Can anyone in the US tell me where I can find 100% silicone for doing pours? I looked at walmart, AC Moore, on line. Just can't find it. Is there anything else that needs to me added to the acrylic paint in the cup once the paint is in, and before the dops of silicone?
I know I am way behind the curve as far as input, perhaps you could try the www.happymedium.fun premade paint for pouring? I do not think this Deco paint is for me I think it looks thin and watery, is that just the camera? I will look for other tests you might have made with this paint. Oh I like the swipe technique if your still looking for another method to try. I would also like to see you get some cells without using silicone?
