I found this very helpfull I maybe going to try a different decoder but seeing how you put the thing into this loco wow... a bit daunting so thankyou for making this!
Nice Video. Well done. I have watched many of your videos and they are all very good. Perfect for the novice or experienced in the hobby. Anyone who is interested in modifying LGB or upgrading to Digital should gain a lot from this. Thanks for all you do and keep those great video's coming.
When you mention "programming track", can it be any kind of track?, or does it have to be a "special" track, and do you recommend programming one locomotive at a time?, I am planning to use 2 locomotives on the same layout.
Bambam5476 - Nice job......I enjoyed your video and thanks for sharing. I install LGB decoders in LGB locos too. It's of course much harder to install a decoder in the LGB loco motor blocks that only have three electrical points instead of four, such as the LGB 2063 D&RGW Diesel. In that type motor blocks you have to rewire the motor block so there are two separate connections going to the motor........a lot of work. Do you know why LGB designed these older motor blocks with only three electrical connections, to be more simple or what? The newer LGB motor blocks have a decoder connector already installed for easy decoder installation.
Thomas White thank you the resson for this is there was no digital system. and the 3 pin system was easy there was no need for a 4th pin two for trackpower lights and smoke and later sound. and one to turn the motor on or off.
