Air India has signed a historic deal with Boeing & Airbus to purchase 470 aircraft. But why is this agreement being dubbed as a ‘landmark deal’ by American president Joe Biden and ‘momentous’ by UK prime minister Rishi Sunak who said that the deal will help create employment and aid the recovery of their economy? Let's take an in-depth look at Air India's massive order for planes and the impact it will have on the airline and Indian aviation sector.

@@nvignesh You may think you're a smartarse but in reality, you're just an opinionated fool. How do I reckon that? Let me prove my point. Every company has some hits and failure products in range. Comparing to other car manufactures in India of which most are either Japanese or Korean companies, TATA is still young and gaining experience. On second note, it's an Indian car manufacturer. Only other big Indian car brand is Mahindra and Mahindra. Now, on reviewing your second absurd remark, I found that majority of TCS clients are either USA or European based multinational conglomerates. TCS is, matter of fact, the world's third biggest and only Indian tech consultant to be mentioned in the list of top 10 consultants in the world. Data is available on every major platform. It is also important to note that many Boeing 777s and A320s of Air India are very close to retiring. The 747s have already retired. Hence, Air India has to replenish and enhance their fleet. Well, one important benefit missed in the analysis is that India has a potential to become a transit hub and not just serve NRIs or foreign tourists or business travel. It will also help the transit hub to get a boost in tourists as part of foreign travelers let's say between JFK and Dhaka taking Air India will be willing to step out and take a day trip of Delhi before stepping to Dhaka flight. These tourists were earlier doing that in Dubai or other foreign transit hubs. Tourism creates a lot of employment.
@rakeshsinghprs

Trust me these orders will be cancelled … there is no way air India can fill up those planes … I would anyday prefer flying on emirates , Qatar ,Etihad or Turkish than having to deal with air India customer service … also there is no way they can match up the service , luxury and brand of these airlines … this was more of a Pr exercise and gullible folks bought it

@@LuckyBombay i would not be so negative about this. Singapore Airlines is involved. and one could at least say that the Tata Group are serious about upscaling customer service. the problem with Air India before was that it was (mostly?) state-owned, and politicians in government were abusing it to their own advantage. professional standards just need to be applied, and sanctions should fall where they should.
@LuckyBombay
@LuckyBombay Год назад
@@anthonydecastro6938 the problem I see is that there is absolutely no way to grow … the number of passengers won’t increase exponentially all of a sudden .. our economy is not growing in that direction.. even if somehow they become the best of best in service they will only reach till the level of emirates ( which gets subsidized heavily by dubai government) … they can’t do anything more than emirates cause there is nothing much left to do … at that point they will be doing pretty much everything that these airlines are already doing and now not getting subsidized by the government… any which way you do forecasting air India just can’t fill those planes … no one can … it’s impossible… even emirates and Qatar can’t … they can suddenly increase non stop flights to us but again there is a limitation of code share agreements and for such long hauls you need to reduce tue number of bags per person … passengers like me will just prefer a stop in dubai and get an extra bag for free and can also spend a few days in dubai … domestic routes also have too much competition … I have a hunch that some people got a lot of bribes to get these orders through because when they get cancelled it will be the money of the taxpayer as it will again be a NPA … I have absolutely no trust in the regulatory and government bodies in India … Adani example is for all to see … this is going same route .. trust me… also the planes will actually be bought by leasing companies in Europe and not by air India directly … these are she’ll companies and no one cares if they go belly up … for now this is good for Boeing and airbus shareholders and good PR for Godi media … ever wondered why they bought equal number from both companies ? So that one will not blow the whistle on this scam being perpetrated
@rakeshsinghprs
@rakeshsinghprs Год назад
@@LuckyBombay interested to know your view point on why they would cancel the order. Tata has the capacity and good credit rating to make the purchase and is already in airline business to understand the economics. There is huge demand with low supply in India for flights, which is making relatively higher travel costs. Given the high demand and higher flight ticket prices, its a great opportunity for a big player like Tata to enter.
@LuckyBombay
@LuckyBombay Год назад
@@rakeshsinghprs read my last comment . I have explained in detail my thoughts … the Indian market just does not have the capacity for 450 planes . They are buying 737 Max which has a dubious past. Involved in 3 major accidents due to faulty technology used. Boeing covered it up. But one of the lost pilot's wife is still fighting the case.

Created millions of jobs in US & EU but not in India? What can’t these companies set up plants in India? Such orders are big enough to warrant such needs. Will be forever relying on The West for maintenance and parts?

1st reason these 2 company have monopoly on this aviation sector they won't let anyone have these tech to reduce their dominance in future. 2. These are high risk and skill full jobs and need experience, expertise, infrastructure and so on india do not have any of these. It is not fighter plane that u risk only pilot rather then crew,100s of passengers so it is smart to buy from experience field 😊😊 btw tata will make c295 aircraft (40) for indian airforce after receiving 95 percent tot from spain 😊😊

I didn't understand one thing, due to pandemic, I heard few airlines put their plane's for sales. Why air India didn't buy those? Would have been huge discounts

As mentioned in the video, buying new airlines with new technology, helps reduce the running cost rather incurring higher maintenence costs for old airplanes

NEW: 62-year-old Boeing whistleblower John Barnett found dead in his truck after he didn't show up for a legal interview linked to a case against Boeing. Barnett worked for Boeing for 32 years and retired in 2017. After retiring, Barnett spoke out about how Boeing was cutting corners on their airplanes. Just days before his death, Barnett gave evidence in a lawsuit against Boeing. Barnett accused Boeing of "deliberately fitting sub-standard parts" on their aircraft. He also accused Boeing of having faulty oxygen systems, saying one in four breathing masks would *not* work in an emergency situation. Barnett said new plane builds were rushed. When he brought his concerns forward, they were allegedly ignored by the company. When he died, Barnett was in Charleston for interviews linked to a case against Boeing. He was supposed to come back for more questioning on Saturday but did not show up. Inquiries were made to his hotel where Barnett was found dead in his car in the parking lot.
