Lunacid is a dungeon crawler inspired by classic FromSoftware games like Shadow Tower and King's Field that is filled with secrets and hidden lore. One of these is an entire decipherable language spoken by the creatures of the world. Here are all of the translations, plus some interesting bonus lore about the main antagonists of the game...

So I’ve been on the lookout for more games with the same vibe as Noita and Lunacid and apparently this free game called Moonring has been out for a while. Not asking you to make a vid on it since the dev, a co-creator of Fable said he liked players to explore it themselves. Just recommending since I feel like you’d like piecing together the mystery of Caldera as well. Gameplay is like an oldschool MUD with an open world and a roguelike dungeons

I'm sorry to tell you this, user-ed8tn6yc8b, but the simple answer is: I'm not going to. It's been over 4 years and I've moved on and am interested in working on other things - video essays and guides on secrets, lore, design, mysteries, ARGs... That's what I've been working on over the last several years on this channel. Terraria was something that I did in the past. I'm very happy to have made those videos, and I'm even happier that so many people enjoyed them, but it was a long time ago, especially for me, with all the things that have happened in my life since then, and I'm happy making new things for new games. I do hope that you have a good day!

Yet another substitution cipher, I know making your own writing system is neat, but why stop at plain old English? No respelling? No weird grammar? No missing or extra features?

I tend to agree. Most games that add a new language that is actually decipherable just use a simple substitution cipher. While I still think it's very cool for a game to even go to these lengths, since most don't, something more complex would definitely be nice. Not every game can be Tunic, though, I suppose.

I just wish there were more games that revolved about deciphering the text or learning the language, games like Chants of Sennaar definitely comes to mind. But honestly it doesn't have to be a language you can translate cleanly into English, take the pictograms for hints that are in so many games for example, arrows pointing where to go, wavy patterns to tell you to fill it with a liquid, skulls or exclamation points marking danger, even different icons for shops or points of interest. Imagine those kinds of things, but altered in a way that you wouldn't be able to tell instantly what each thing is by already seeing it in other games I just like puzzle games if I'm being honest lol
